Down in the Philly area today to celebrate my Mom's 86th birthday today and of course Independence Day. Between doing my Mom's bidding, (hang this picture, I want X for dinner, how about making a chocolate cake for your Mom, etc) I will throw an antenna in the tree next to her house and try to pick up some QSO's (Contacts) within the 13 Original Colonies.
Here (http://www.arrl.org/Events/view/21832) is a link if you would like to learn more about this annual event or to participate this year.
Happy Independence Day!

good luck and 73.

Tell your Mom I said HAPPY BIRTHDAY. Hoping when you reach 86 she can celebrate your birthday. Very possible in this day and age.
-
Hail, I just hoping I can make another combination of 8 and 6. Got past those alone and 14 and 48 so they don't count anymore.

First, I am glad you got to spend time with your mom. That is important.
Second, I have been working a few 13 colonies stations. The pileup can get pretty wild.

Awesome cooter!
I have nine and a extra point station so far. Having a dickens of a time getting NY, RI, GA, and NJ. My challenge is I am using a QRP station (5w).
Good luck brother!

I gotz my 13 colonies + one special event station WM3PEN. Just trying to get special event station GB13COL in Great Britain. Tough to get through the pile ups on 5-watts.

not bad!

Wow JohnnyMac, doing it QRP is pretty impressive. I punked out and used 100W. I got 6 stations. It would've been 7 but I couldn't break through the pileup for RI.

Oh yeah RI was a tough one for me too.
I could have gotten the GB station is I broke out my Signalink and used the FLDIGI CW mode but something came up Saturday and I didn't do it.
Glad to read you got a sweep cooter
