Title: Good week for PT
Post by: Erick on August 05, 2017, 09:35:31 PM
After slacking off through most of June (after strong a march, april ,May), July has been better for exercising, though not perfect.

This first week of August however in particular is looking good, so far:

3 runs
2 iron pumps

1 Ruck march (planned for tomorrow)

If all my weeks were like this I'd be a very different man... :gunner:

I've increased my exercise "program" and plan on getting in a few hours of chasing grayling, rainbow trout or salmon this evening  :dancingBanana:

Not exercise but diet related. Due to a current health issue I haven't had bread, soda, or junk food since May31st. I've lost 40lbs as result. I plan to regain weight by working on muscle gain. Basically been on a prepper/shtf diet to clean my system. Now I know what size clothes I'll need for a grid down scenario. :lmfao:

No worries, I will make a full recovery.

I agree with your comment Kbop, "good work all of you!"

Usually my weight goes up over the doldrums of winter however this year I kept it low. So this summer I have worked my weight down to my goal which is 199 lbs. I should hit that mark by the end of August.

My secret is, keep the carbs low and protein intake high. No lunch unless I am hungry then eat just a piece of fruit and cheese. When we go out to dinner which is not frequent, I only eat half of what is on my plate - Take the rest home.

I stayed 100% away from food excess this week.
However I only did a couple of work outs..so I guess it balances out... :zombitron:

Skipping lunch is not a good idea, you'll be better off snacking all day on peanuts, meats/cheese other high protein foods. And try to keep all meals small.

This was a good week. 5 workouts total.
3 runs and 2 top to bottom iron pumps.

When I do iron pumps I try to make the most of them afterwards.
The "cost" of exercise for me is not just the time spent but (with advancing age) also the risk of injury.

So when I do a long and hard workout I try to maximize its effects by eating lots of protein afterwards.

Today after my 1:15 hr iron pump I ate 2 Burgers and then slept for 3 hours
