Many of us learned late last evening of the collision between a regional jet and a helicopter just south of Reagan National Airport. Here is a quick analysis.

As a licensed commercial pilot, my take is the helicopter pilot is at fault for the accident.  He said he had traffic in sight. The controller could have been more helpful by mentioning that the AA aircraft was on short final at his 10:00 or 9:00 position.  The helicopter pilot may have seen another different aircraft, or ground lights which he interpreted as the traffic the controller mentioned.  Sad situation, in any case.

Yupper, it is sad.

This is Trump's first test as to whether .gov comes forth with the truth today vs. years down the road.

EDIT: Trump just alluded the accident could have been a result of DEI hiring under the biden administration
