I just read on the interwiz that Mr. Trump is leaning to ban "bump stocks" and to increase the age to purchase certain fire arms.

If you feel that this is a movement on your Second Amendment, may I suggest you write a email/letter to the White House and Trump.

I sent the following letter/email:

President Trump,

I just read that you are leaning towards two new anti-gun measures. 1) Ban the sale of "bump stocks" and 2) increase the age on purchase of certain firearms. I do not support this.

Since the Second Amendment to the Bill of Rights specifically reads "...the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed." What part of "not be infringed" leads you and our Legislative Branch to think we can legally increase the age to purchase some firearms?

Next, the "bump stock" does not turn a rifle into an automatic weapon. It is just a devise that helps you to pull a trigger quicker. Add to that sentence this thought - There has been only one instance in which a "bump stock" was used to kill a human. Let’s not throw the baby out with the bathwater for one inappropriate use of an accessory.

To execute on either one of these anti-gun measures, is to infringe on our rights spelled out in the Second Amendment of the US Bill of Rights.

I sent a message for whatever it's worth. Any restriction or law is an infringement. The nation has strayed so far from the original intent that only a complete reboot can correct things.

Here's my 2 cents worth. The bill of rights applies to all Citizens, whether they are crazy, criminals, or law abiding citizens. It doesn't say anything about not applying if you are nuts or are a criminal. If I'm armed, I can protect myself from the Nuts and Criminals. Next, I bumpfire my unmodified carbine all the time. I don't need a Bumpstock. As to the age thing, I think whoever came up with that one should whipped with blacksnake(another name for a bullwhip). You can join the Military at 17 with your parents signature, 18 without. So you can join the Military, be highly trained in weapons use, go fight in a combat zone, get your ass shot off, shoot somebody else's ass off, win the Congressional Medal of Honor, come home and can't buy a rifle? What the Hell kind of thinking is that? It makes me want to just slap the shit out of a Liberal.

pkveazey that is the same argument the liberals used to get children

to vote. If you lower the age to buy a gun then you should lower the age to vote. If their to stupid to own a gun then they are to stupid to vote. They lowered the drinking age to 18 but when they found out they did stupid things when drunk so they raised the age to 21.
You can't have stair step age brackets, is it 18 or 21?

Might add a sentence. To the effect of-- 21 for AR = 21 to Vote = 21 for Military = 21 for Adult Court.

At least the first 2 comparisons anyway.

I heard this morning on the Boob Tube that the White House received over 40,000 emails and or phone calls yesterday concerning gun-control.

I wonder what the ratio was for pro/con.

This is the email I sent to my Senators and facebook to my representative.

Every state in the our Republic has legal killing fields called gun free zones. Some people myself included would like to see teachers trained and armed. How can we trust our teachers to educate our children and not trust them to protect them. A situation happens so quickly the act is over by time the police are notified and respond.
Remember when seconds count the police are just minuets away.

I strongly urge you to vote for arming our teachers to protect our children.

Why not apply the same restrictions to the 1st Amendment?

- Age limit regs must be met to write or speak in public/MEDIA?
- Background checks to weed out those who do not conform
- Speed typing/talking strictly prohibited (think bumpstocks)
- Pay a special fee for training and permitting to learn how to protect your family with words (think CCW)
- Each state having different law regulating what, where, when you can and cannot say anything

After all, all war have been started with words while guns are used to fight the wars

Dick's just announced they will no longer sell assault rifles. Gun shows across the country are reporting record turn out. I think we may have another gun/ammo run up on our hands.

Actually, Dick's pulled the same crap after Sandy Hook, maybe once they see how much it costs to screw over firearms enthusiasts; they'll change their minds again. I imagine that many firearms businesses appreciate the boost in sales.

I wrote my local Representative regarding concerns for the Second Amendment, and she wrote back a very nice letter, which didn't seem to be a form letter, as she specifically addressed my concerns. At least there's one Congress creature that understands her oath of office, and she's a member of the NRA. I have no hope for our State's Senators, because both are traitors, who should be tarred and feathered.

I've seen a couple of videos of yesterday's meeting. Trump was essentially giving the Democrats everything they want for gun control. It looked like Feinstein was having an orgasm. Essentially, Trump is going full retard. It was especially appalling when he suggested taking firearms without due process, it showed his ignorance of the American legal system. He's showing his true colors and I certainly don't see him getting re-elected.

I'm wondering if Trump will retract some of his statements from the meeting. In any case, he's upsetting his base voters, and the U.S. progresses towards its next civil war. These are scary times.

Remember folks, back in the fall of 2016 I wrote, "Trump is a Progressive". Well that is coming out now.

Yeah Jackalope, his comments about taking a gun first then doing 'due process' really got my attention.

Same trip just a different gear...

What people forget concerning the NRA not $$$$ (wealth) but the number of folks who belong. Those millions of folks wield a tremendous amount of power. Enough power that the Legislative branch is scared shitless.

With that written, it is up to all of us to let our Representatives know where you stand. If they capitulate don't vote for them in November.

I watched the meeting live, he made me sick!!

After thinking about it I hope he was pandering to the left knowing nothing will happen but I doubt it.

If he does sign any gun bill I dont think I'll be voting again and just let the SHTF. He was my last hope to MAGA and now he is kicking me in the nuts...

Kurt Schlicter wrote a good article regarding the overall gun issue and the NRA. He writes that the left just wants to disarm people and have control over them.
