the video is priceless.  The ambassador calls the reporter 'fake news' and denies what he was just recorded saying.

Trump's Dutch ambassador apologizes after calling recorded quotes 'fake news'

The U.S. ambassador to the Netherlands on Saturday apologized after he made two denials to a Dutch news station.

Pete Hoekstra denied past statements that he made calling parts of the country "no-go zones" and the news outlet's report of that recorded quote "fake news."

"I made certain remarks in 2015 and regret the exchange during the Nieuwsuur interview. Please accept my apology," Hoekstra said on Twitter.

Even smart people say stupid stuff.  Giving him the benefit of a major doubt because he is an Ambassador.

Could be he is just stupid himself.  Either way can explain it.

Nemo, you got me looking into his career.
he seems to have some decent elected Rep & Tea Party chops.

he also seems to have a history of exaggerating existing facts to buff his own opinion.

I still find the interview hilarious.
