MrsMac and I lived on our sailboat, Mad Max for eleven years. From Seattle to Los Angeles on the west coast and then again from New England to Fort Pierce Florida on the east coast. When cruising we used an old expression. If you start to think, "maybe I should shorten sail" is the time to do it. Typically on our cutter that meant throwing one reef into the main sail or maybe roller furling in half the genoa sail, depending on what point of sail we were on.
Another expression we would banter back and forth was, "the eye of the storm". As we all know, hurricanes have an eye and if you are in the center of that eye the storm rages around you but you are relatively safe. When the eye moves on, you are then hit with the back wall and in may cases that wall is more ferocious that the front wall.
Well here we are post the 2024 Presidential election. Think of the election as the front wall and now we are in the eye of the election. We have survived the first part of the Hurricane. Now the back wall is approaching and will first hit us around January 6, 2025. Then slam the country full-force on January 20, 2025. It will be hell on earth as the Elites and the Swamp will not go quietly. The Elites on both aisles of the equation within the D.C. Loop.
What will that back wall of the hurricane look like? We can only guess, however, I suspect it will be a combination of Lawfare, "mostly peaceful protests" and global conflict (Maybe WW III).
My point being, do not become complacent. Do not let your guard down. Continue to prep and work towards "self-reliance".
