Title: SCOTUS Is Listening To Colorado-Trump Primary Case
Post by: JohnyMac on February 08, 2024, 11:56:03 AM
Here is a link to listen to the Trump/Colorado Primary case before the SCOTUS.

Alan Dershowitz just made a quick statement on the proceeding's basically stating both council's, Trump & Colorado, are doing a terrible job. In essence, Dershowitz thinks both sides are making the case more complicated than is needed. He went on to say that based on what he is hearing, the SCOTUS justices are trying to help the lawyers.

Interesting,

That's not unusual at all.

The guts of this argument was a question by (IIRC Alito) regarding what prevents different states from banning different persons either side of the ballot.

That would permit a half dozen states to be the determinative states and select the president.

I think it could also likely send it to the House for determination.

When will they make a decision?

I'll never understand why people feel the need to complicate the simplest of things. If I was TRUMP I'd just tell the people to do a "WRITE IN VOTE" and that would bypass all the bullshit.

Although the Supreme Court moved quickly to hear oral arguments, it's unclear how long the court will take to issue a decision. The ruling could solidify whether Trump is eligible for the ballot, or leave the decision up to Congress (which could overturn Trump's potential eligibility with a two-thirds vote) and the general voters, as reported by NPR. - Snopes (https://www.snopes.com/news/2024/02/08/trump-supreme-court-case/)

I remember hearing something about they would not allow write-ins?

The CO SupCt said write in ballots were not valid or to be counted.

The crooks might be able to stop write ins on the primary vote but they sure as hell can't stop write ins in the November Election. I'm not a big fan of TRUMP but I'd vote for a stray dog before I'd vote for Biden.
