So much for that predicted epidemic of "Texan fatigue."

Gov. Rick Perry leads by double digits in the campaign for the Republican presidential nomination, according to one poll due today. But that's not the most surprising news.

U.S. Rep. Ron Paul has tripled his support in Iowa since the 2008 election and has pulled into contention nationally alongside Minnesota Republican Michele Bachmann, based on the Iowa straw poll and a new Gallup Poll.

According to Gallup, either Perry or Paul would finish in a virtual tie with President Barack Obama today on an imaginary presidential ballot, and Paul draws more Democratic and independent support than Perry or Bachmann.

Sorry guys, I won't be voting for Paul unless he changes his tune on this one. You've got to be pretty ignorant to believe it'd be acceptable for Iran to develop nukes when their stance is all over the news. They want to destroy Israel. The only thing I agree with Paul on is our troops need to come home. That being said I will not in the future post in politics or respond to any comments on this post. Enough members PMed on the MrLnL forum to help me understand that my views against politics and secular government run Christianity will cause me to only antagonize those who can't understand. For those seeking understanding I'd suggest reading Matthews 6, more specifically Matthews 6:24. God Bless

P.S. It'd be the same thing if Iran said they wanted to destroy Iraq, China, Afghanistan or anywhere else. Any nation that vocal about their stance for war should not be allowed to recieve weapons of mass destruction. It's a declaration of their willingness to commit genocide.

And NC how do you suppose any other president can "stop" Iran from getting nukes? How did that work for N Korea? All that that talk is just political rhetoric... Say Bachmann gets elected or someone else and says: "hey you evil Iranians I don't want you getting nukes!" and they get one anyway. What then? Go to war? Bomb them into loving us? if anything that would just exacerbate the situation and make them more likely to use it. Bringing a whole new definition to nuclear holocaust.

Not to mention... Who cares if they blast Israel? This isn't one of those, well if Israel falls Jesus is coming to save us all. Well then what's the problem? Let him come save us. Doesn't sound like a bad ending for the world nowadays.

Paul: Bernanke Is Out of Options to Save Economy

Paul is a 2012 Republican presidential candidate and supports the U.S. returning to the gold standard to protect its currency and force a balanced budget. He has been highly critical of the Federal Reserve and its chairman over plans for "quantitative easing," a two-part program which flooded the market with dollars in an attempt to make money more available for borrowing and lending.

Paul argued that Bernanke's plan to buy bank assets and drop more than $2 trillion into the economy did not yield the results the chairman hoped, a conclusion that Paul says Bernanke implicitly acknowledged during a speech last week in which he offered no new bailout programs from the Fed.

"He really hasn't pulled back. Symbolically, he has and he is not having another QE3," Paul said. "But he has maintained a (view) to keep interest rates low until 2013. You can't keep interest rates low without monetizing debt because if somebody else doesn't buy it, he has to buy it. So he's continuously quantitatively easing."
