Same Topic Differnt place/day: Looting in Mexico Post Hurricane

So folks just another small example of what may happen when the grid goes down. Are you ready?
Quote
Though the government would like us to believe there is rarely looting or panic in the aftermath of a disaster, the fact of the matter is that within 72 hours of any serious crisis people will lose it.

Case in point: Acapulco, Mexico.

This week flood waters and landslides ravaged the resort town of Acapulco and stranded a reported 40,000 tourists, leaving them without food, water, or any means of escape. Major roadways into and out of Acapulco have been blocked by debris, cutting off recovery efforts for the city?s 680,000 residents.

With the city devoid of law and order, and emergency responders overwhelmed, looters hit the streets in a matter of hours.

You?d think that those who failed to prepare for the possibility of a disaster would be out looking to acquire extra food, fresh drinking water and supplies, but apparently, as we saw in the immediate aftermath of Hurricane Katrina in New Orleans, electronics and other consumer goods were the order of the day:

Yet another bookmarked link for later reference for myself and others regarding fairly recent SHTF incidents.

This type of looting signifies the belief that the masses hold dear that after a disaster the government will soon be rushing in to save them and restore things to normal.   It's evidenced by their value appraisal that a TV is more valuable than a bag of beans.

Which draws the question.  Immediately after a disaster, when law and order has collapsed, is it relatively safe to go to the local big box store and grab a few bags of beans.  Considering that the majority of the looters would be in the electronics and small appliance department.  And that no one would be looking to fight with you to take your bag of beans booty away from you.  I wonder.

When looting starts, also start the gun fights, the gang violence and all the scumbags get out of their hole because they know is open season.
I don't think is safe to get into those situations.

For instance, in this picture from Haiti earthquake in 2010 we can see a man about to hit another one with a big rock while fighting for some balls.

Beware :sarcasm: To follow.

Note To Self:  Stay out of the ball department.  It could be dangerous.  Do not approach the ball department unless well armed.

Sticky to Self:  Buy balls to barter.  They are highly prized by sheeple.  Balls may also be useful in avoiding being attacked by unruly masses.  When the unruly mass approaches throw the balls in the opposite direction in which you wish to escape.  This will draw them away.

You have to wonder how that fellow's particular gene pool has continued to reproduce this long.

Huh reinforces my ideas that before and after whatever hits it is going to be UGLY. Also the picture gave me some knowledge to stay away from people with a bag of bouncy balls and people who wear sandals during SHTF  :sarcasm:
