"They" knew Jan. 5th of the fire Poetential
« on: January 14, 2025, 10:06:07 AM »
On January 5, 2025, a warning was issued about Santa Ana winds and potential fire hazard for area's in Malibu and Pacific Palisades.

Santa Ana winds are like hurricanes in Florida, they come every year like clock work. I know as I lived in Marina del Rey, CA., and Fort Pierce, FL.

With this information, why didn't Los Angeles County and the state of California,
> Preposition fire equipment and manpower?
> Begin to fill the Pacific Palisades Reservoir?
> Increase a police presents so homeless, terrorists, arsonists, etc. be stopped?
> Why was there no basic communication from .gov be dissimulated door to door?
> Why didn't other.... happen?

This is borderline criminal and folks in leadership roles should be arrested and prosecuted for their roles in this disaster.

Last, I am a supporter of no federal moneys other than the standard FEMA payouts be made to Los Angeles and California in general to rebuild.

Thoughts?

JohnyMac, we all either know or suspect that any Federal money will be pissed away by the State on things that have nothing to do with the disaster. My sympathy quotient for California has long ago evaporated. I shouldn't feel that way but there is a limit to people's patience.

They shouldn?t get a dime.  The incompetence demonstrated in California is criminal.  They?ve been warned many times over the years.  They should reap what they sow. These incompetent politicians should be charged with manslaughter, as their poor decision making has resulted in many deaths.  Actions have consequences, and inaction should have consequences too!

The other night, I actually saw a local TV station ask these questions. Is the tide turning?

On California Citizens voting these bums back in, the question is...Are the elections rigged with Illegal Aliens that cause these bums to win, election after election.

My position is, "California you need money from Uncle Sam, you have to enact following check and balances'. Some that come immediately to mind,

> Photo ID for all elections.
> A fire prevention plan for ALL of California that includes under brush control that is more than goats feeding on
   the brush.
> No legal fights as the Federal .gov rounds up illegals.
> Others????

How about accountability for the fires?  I?ve read several reports that indicate arsonists have not been charged due to lack of evidence, though there are videos of the perpetrators caught in the act.  Various politicians should be charged for dereliction of duty.  How about actual punishment for the politicians who have directly contributed to the cause of the fires?

My position on the S.Cal. fires has gone from Denial; this could not happen to this magnitude, to anger now.

I guess the next levels will be, bargaining then depression then last acceptance.

As you know I live in California about 100 miles due east of San Francisco.  There was no giant continous cry when  the city of Paradise completely burned, no constant news coverage when Northern Ca (State of Jefferson) burns.

But suddenly personalities with fame and fortune have a gripe and the d!ckh&ads who have been focused on what they thought would get them the White House are not liking what the likes of Mel Gibson is saying.

If you live long enough, as a bunch of us here, you will see things swing back and forth.  The swing is coming hard, but do not be lulled into thinking it will all be OK.  We did that in '16 and look what we got.

What did I do in response to LA on fire?  I fired up the casting pot and made some 255g .454 medicine pills.

Feds can help build highways and roads and hospitals and such.  CA can cover the biggest part of it through their own preplanned funding protections.

Homeowners can rely on their own fire/casualty insurance for their homes and contents.
