I was just talking to a very good friend who is retired from the PSP (PA State Police). During his last 10-years at the PSP he was involved in comms and one of hos specific roles was to man a comms center when any dignitary came to town. He would be sitting in a chair monitoring comms and right smack next to him would be a USSS comms guy.
As traffic came in he would relay it to the USSS comms guy who would relay the info to the folks in the field. Summerly, the USSS would do likewise to my PSP friend and he would relay pertinent traffic to the police officers on the ground.
He told me that at the Butler, PA Trump rally, that was not the case. There were two separate comm centers. One was PSP and the other was USSS. He also told me that the PSP brought this up to the USSS and the observation fell on deaf ears.
Here we are 21-days post the attempted assassination of Trump, the murder of a rally goer and the injury of two others. As time continues to tick by with no credible information and action taken, so this does not happen again, the conspiracy theories of average Americans, left & right, grows. I too have moved on from incompetency on the part of the USSS too, "was this a laps in competency part of a plan in hopes that some wing nut does take a shot at Trump?" I am starting to think so.

In closing, keep in mind that shortly the USSS is going to now have to protect five Presidents and Presidential candidates. Biden, Harris, Trump, Vance, and Harris's VP pick. Will they be able to do it professionally? Safely? Intelligently? We will see. So far the Temporary Director of the USSS, Ronald Rowe has been another CYA (Cover Your Ass) manager.
