I do a lot of reading on survivalist sites and I noticed some serious fear mongering. Yes I know we are at a stage where it is very dangerous but what I have read lately on sites I thought were up to date with their news is startling. They're running stories so far back obama was still in his first term and passing them off as new news.
Yes I know there are new preppers who haven't read them but at least bring them up to date.

I agree.
Some stuff thats being fear mongered over is just silly too..
And it sometimes buries the more realistic threats.

I agree completely.
I have also noted over time the tendency to fixate on singular threats.
As a prepper I believe in prepping to build flexible capacity to meet a range of possible threats.
Not saying I am the font of wisdom. Just noting that prepping for a singular threat can be counter productive and potentially handicapping.

To :deadHorse: some more let me take another crack at this:
Every single one threat is currently insufficient to constitute an immediate risk calculus to our society,.. by and of itself.
However the totality of individually unlikely, but still plausible , threats adds up to a significant and actionable collapse threat to our complex society in our lifetimes.

If a person tells an outright lie often enough and to enough of people it becomes truth. A communist/democrat tool which is at the moment being beaten to death in Trump.
