Friday on CNN’s “New Day” 2020 presidential hopeful, former Vice President Joe Biden said Russia would not have gotten away with interfering in an election under his or President Barack Obama’s watch.

i think its probably time for old white men to hand over the reins of power to the next generation.
that would include Biden.  if the USofA's government can't adapt to the changes that are ongoing, then stress will keep building until something breaks, badly.  in a democracy demographics is destiny or it isn't a democracy.  The government has to reflect the people.

- I think you and I are from the same generation, if i'm wrong i apologize in advance - I'm a boomer. 
(as it exists now) the 'deep state' or 'shadow government' is a creation of the baby boomers. 
its a bit of a frankenstein monster - made of rotting pieces cobbled together for reasons that made sense at the time.  the 20 & 30 year olds need to step up.  I'm certain i won't like all of their decisions but they deserve to make their own mistakes and learn from them.  as apposed to, i guess, dealing with ours. 
among the good things the boomers accomplished are also these cautionary tails;

Now the 'Iron Triangle' is a school subject and a career path - not a warning.

 I'm a pre baby boomer,born before the war and I disagree with letting the young take over. They haven't made their mistakes yet to be called experts. We don't need more mistakes.
 Whether it be family or government the wisdom of the elderly is essential, we already made all of the mistakes and know how to avoid making them again. The idea is to chose an honest man who loves this country and flag, that alone eliminates 95% of the younger generations. Forty years old for Congress and fifty for President is what I think would be a good start.

I was born during the war so I'm sort of a baby boomer. For years, I've heard boomers described as the you owe me crowd. I call BS on that. Every baby boomer that I know are in the if you want something, work for it crowd. I've seen what  happened to the country and that's why I'm a pepper. This is an essential part of what is missing to todays society.  Our political leaders are for the most part self serving crooks who pass rules and laws to their advantage so that they can be rich.  Where else can a man or a woman get a job coming in as a middle class wage earner and become a millionaire on a government salary.  They can do things that would land the average American in jail for many years.  They have their own life long health care that is second to none while we are stuck with "Affordable Health Care".  They are bought and paid for polititians by special interest groups.  Term limits on congress and senators is essential to getting these rinos out of office.  Being old or white or any other age or ethnicity has nothing to do with it.  People of good moral character who are willing to make sacrifices for the good of our country and the American people is what is needed.  Proper vetting and transparency would go a long way in keeping our politicians honest.  I thing the only way forward at this point is to hit the big red reset button.

before the US Civil War, i think that may have been a true statement.  That's when state sovereignty was demolished in favor of a federalist government, so was the idea of a republic - at least by the roman definition (  or the OED).  We are a representative democracy BUT no longer a republic - we have the worst of 'tyranny of the masses' - the worst of corporate-ocracy and plutocracy.  Do you believe personal and State freedom hasn't been diminished?  (the ultimate test of freedom in a republic - is your own sovereignty, you want to leave, then go)  We can agree to disagree - however please consider - what was, may not be what is. 
for what it matters, i'm a mid-western 'Northerner' by political/social leaning.
