Anyone Following Goings On In Virginia

With regard to the gun rights activity pushed by VCDL (.org) and on Facebook getting the counties to declare themselves Second Amendment Sanctuaries?  I haven't put much up here on this and will try to correct that.

If you are in Virginia you DAYUM SURE BETTER BE IN RICHMOND ON JAN 20.   That is the standard lobby day but I have heard a news report or 2 referring to it as Gun Lobby Day.  PM me if you need help figuring how to get there.  I can get you a bus seat.

If you're not in Va, you best be looking at how to get involved in your state.

Its getting big.  I'll give you a link to peek one you need to read.

Side note--  I live an hour or so from Lexington and Concord.

Top link will give you a good reading source starting point.

'The law is the law': Virginia Democrats float prosecution, National Guard deployment if police don't enforce gun control

by Kerry Picket  | December 11, 2019

Democratic lawmakers on Capitol Hill say local police who do not enforce gun control measures likely to pass in Virginia should face prosecution and even threats of the National Guard.

After November's Virginia Legislature elections that led to Democrats taking control of both chambers, the gun control legislation proposed by some Democrats moved forward, including universal background checks, an “assault weapons” ban, and a red flag law.

Legal firearm owners in the state, however, joined with their sheriffs to form Second Amendment sanctuary counties, which declare the authorities in these municipalities uphold the Second Amendment in the face of any gun control measure passed by Richmond.

Over 75 counties in Virginia have so far adopted such Second Amendment sanctuary resolutions in the commonwealth, the latest being Spotsylvania County. The board of supervisors voted unanimously to approve a resolution declaring that county police will not enforce state-level gun laws that violate Second Amendment rights.

Virginia Democratic officials, however, already say local law enforcement supporting these resolutions will face consequences if they do not carry out any law the state Legislature passes.

“I would hope they either resign in good conscience, because they cannot uphold the law which they are sworn to uphold, or they're prosecuted for failure to fulfill their oath,” Democratic Virginia Rep. Gerry Connolly told the Washington Examiner of local county police who may refuse to enforce future gun control measures. “The law is the law. If that becomes the law, you don't have a choice, not if you're a sworn officer of the law.”

Democratic Virginia Rep. Donald McEachin suggested cutting off state funds to counties that do not comply with any gun control measures that pass in Richmond.

“They certainly risk funding, because if the sheriff's department is not going to enforce the law, they're going to lose money. The counties' attorneys offices are not going to have the money to prosecute because their prosecutions are going to go down,” he said.

McEachin also noted that Democratic Virginia Gov. Ralph Northam could call the National Guard, if necessary.

“And ultimately, I'm not the governor, but the governor may have to nationalize the National Guard to enforce the law,” he said. “That's his call, because I don't know how serious these counties are and how severe the violations of law will be. But that's obviously an option he has.”

Virginia Attorney General Mark Herring blamed the numerous Second Amendment resolutions in the state on the “gun lobby” as a tactic to frighten state residents.

“The resolutions that are being passed are being ginned up by the gun lobby to try to scare people. What we’re talking about here are laws that will make our communities and our streets safer,” Herring told CBS 6.

“So, when Virginia passes these gun safety laws that they will be followed, they will be enforced,” he added.

Yes, I've been following the entire debacle very closely.  The entire situation follows almost precisely what happened in New York, with their "SAFE" act.  The citizens of NY were suppose to register their "assault" weapons, but less than 1% complied.  It'll be interesting to see how Virginians react to Ralphie's shenanigans.  IMHO, the governor and legislature should be tried for treason.  If found guilty by a jury; they should be hung.  I recently saw a quote, which I can't find, that more or less said that if a certain 100 people were taken out into the street and shot, then there would be a lot fewer problems.  One problem with that idea is which 100 would you choose?   Knowing human nature, the pogrom would never stop at 100.

I see Patriot Nurse is worked up about the Virginia situation: https://youtu.be/HjdAZIGynwM      If the National Guard is sent out to do law enforcement, it would be a bad precedent.  And I'm guessing that a lot of Virginia National Guardsmen are probably from rural areas, and they've sworn to uphold the Constitution, not Ralphie's minions bogus laws.  It would be amusing if the N.G. instead presented Ralphie to Law Enforcement for a treason trial.  I hope Nemo that you're ready for spicy time.  I've got a bad feeling that it'll envelop the entire country.  The common man is tired of the progressive bullshit.

There once was a man who was in such a hurry to get where he wanted to go, that he went so fast that he got out in front and ran over himself. These Damn Democrats don't realize that a lot of Virginia Democrats own firearms and when the next election comes around the idiot Democrat Lawmakers will get themselves voted right out of office. :chuky:

Yes I have been watching it.

Some State Democrats want to pass the laws and when a Sheriff does not comply send in the State National Guard to enforce it.

I was listening to someone discussing this subject on Ham radio tonight. They said that the Sheriff in their county said that if the General Assembly passes the law, he would deputize every eligible citizen in the county. I thought that was pretty slick.

More info.  Look at the  Big BOLD part.  That is since the elections a bit more than a month ago.

The really important part of that is when we go lobbying on Jan 20, its all organized, teams, similar talking point and all.  It really makes a difference when a team leader tells a Delegate-- I am here for VCDL, we have 7500 members.  That makes a bit of an impression.  But when one of us tells them-- we have 15,000 or 20,000 members it makes one helluva lot bigger difference.  When I go and tell them-- our membership has doubled since the election and continues to grow I think it will have an impact.

JOIN if you are in VA.  Or not.

The Supreme court let them get away with banning full-autos in the late 1930's because you can have all the full autos you want as long as you buy a $200 tax stamp for each one. The 2A Sanctuary Counties are basically addressing the latest BS legislation. With that said, most of the Sheriffs I've seen on the news all pretty much said that they would not enforce an unconstitutional law because they swore an oath to protect the Constitution.

the constant erosion and dilution of the Bill of Rights is, er, troubling.  2A is just one example.

This might be a good time for all VA members to think of their fitness.

You must be able to do a short sprint with your rig (without injuring yourself)... and to march at least a few miles with an assault load load (water, ammo, rifle), again without injuring yourself... in terrain to be tactically useful...  this goes even for those who plan on being that "retreat sniper"... even the sniper must be able to cover terrain on foot without getting too debilitated by lack of fitness.
This is perfectly possible for anyone who is not outright handicapped, even if older.

Start a 8 week program:
Twice a week a ruck march (doesnt have to be crazy far, just get used to walking with a load)
And twice a week iron pumps....; they can be light but should include a) mobility related exercises (squats with light weights, even air squats are ok in week 1, back extensions on roman chair w/o weights , calf raises for example,, every gym has a trainer.. tell them you want more agility and mobility with a load in terrain) and b) weapon handling exercises (such as frontal raises and lateral raises)

Go easy in week 1 and 2... then push yourself just a little harder each week..

If you do this, you will feel like a new man in a mere 8 weeks.

Some things to think about.

1) Whom is behind this protest? Could it be a dark ops kind of thing?
2) Will this be another Charlottesville, VA. thing? Will the Antifa be there? What benefit does the 2A group receive by
showing up in mass with weapons on their shoulders and plate-carriers slung around their chests?
3) If you go, go unarmed and leave your cellphones at home. Do you think the alphabet agency's will not be flying drones
    collecting everyone's IP addresses?
4) The populous apposed more gun control laws and are doing the right thing by pushing for 2A Sanctuary laws by county
based on the maps posted here. Why do this? It will only upset the cat ladies, liberals in DC, and justify harsher gun
     control.

Clinton started the Civil Society 2.0 back in 2009. In essence the US State Department trains young people in technology and when the time is right they are released. We have seen in in Egypt (Arab Spring), Libya, Syria, Ukraine, and most recently Chile. Is the USofA next?

When I am working a VCDL recruiting table at a gun show in Va, I ask if my prospect is a member.  If not, Have you heard of VCDL--  If no,  We are a State Gun Rights organization, very similar to the NRA-- but a fair bit more hardcore.
That gets a pile real interested right off.  If you come to Va and go to a gun show, find the VCDL recruiting table.  They can get you into the show free, if you join.

Lobby Day has been going on in Va for many years.  There are always many groups and people there politicking.  You may recall/ about a newscaster lady who was killed at Smith Mountain Lake part, live on tv on a 6am broadcast by a former reporter at the same station.  Her boyfriend/soon to be hubby back then ran for state delegate on gun control/her shooting and was elected.  Her father is there every year (with big pics of her) pushing for more gun control.  Moms Demand Action are there.

There will be groups there on No Nukes, Go Solar, Ban Oil, Socialism for All and most political theories you can imagine.

VCDL has been going a long time and in the past we generally had 3-500 people out there.  EVERY state Delegate and Senator gets a visit by lobby team.  I expect a crapton more than that this year.  Last couple years we had 4 buses set up from or through all parts.  This year we have 9 and other groups are sponsoring about another dozen or so.

We pre-organize with team leaders who grab 10-15 members and go see a couple reps with coordinated talking points and try to get the Fafirfax team seeing Fairfax reps full of Fairfax residents and such.

VCDL got Va from May Issue to Shall Issue on CWPs in 2004 IIRC.  When Northam was first elected there were 67 gun control bills filed for consideration.  We kill them all.  4 pro-gun bills were filed and we got 2 passed and signed.

Near every VCDL person there will be carrying and I cannot recall ever seeing a long gun in the mass.

I have no doubt we are infiltrated, watched, filmed, catalogued, scoped out, noted, tabulated and each has their own personal file folder.

Come south (or whichever), join the bunch and get your own file.  Hunt me up, get on my team and you need say nothing.  But when you get home you will have a Serious sense of--  Been fighting against gun control for many years but TODAY I was able to really do something.

You will not soon forget that.

As far as transportation, there will be a Bus or other ride set up from about anywhere in VA you are.  Cost is $35 to cover bus fees but you can afford that.  Skip lunch or bullets a day or 2.  This is more important.  Details are on the bottom link below.

Thank you gentlemen for your input and by no means am I saying nobody should go; go understanding the risks. I am a pretty big PERSEC (Personal Security guy) so although I am with the VCDL at a 100,000-foot level, I will wait till it is time to pull their butt out of the wringer before I drop south of the Mason Dixon line.

Some additional thoughts:

> Every bus coming in will have a UC or CI person on board.
> As a SOF friend told me at dinner last night, the VCDL will sign up anybody with NO vetting. So the organization is as
solid as "Swiss Cheese". He finished his thought with..."most likely full of infiltrators."
> Again, their will be drones flying over from DC central copying everyone's IP address and copying conversations for
   further analysis.
> Any violence, regardless who starts it, will be blamed on those 2A Terrorists; Consequently, Trump will do what ever
the Elites want him to do. He will not put blame on both sides for sure as he did post C'Ville.

Anyway, go if you must and make frequent reports here on UP. Leave your cell phone at home, do not use an analog HT (Handi Talkie - Walkie Talkie) for coms. Rather use a HT that is setup for DPMR or even simply DMR with a 64-bit encryption key. If forced to use analog then a Brevity code is a must ; However, a Brevity code would involve a lot of forethought and organization which an organization like VCDL does not have, as it is a public $ponsored org that ha$ all kind$ of folk$ $igning up.

A good friend, an alumnist from the sand box, and a Recon & Surveillance specialist, shared this with me.

Thank you for the open discussion gentlemen.

When I live in the SW I had a hermit friend who lived in the desert. He had a photographic memory, really incredible talking with him. Anyway I thought he was off base when he spoke of black helicopters, big brother and the like but over 20 years later I realize he was right. I think of him when I read your posts

Johny, that software/SDR system is interesting.  And that's why the patriots need to have EMP capabilities to be used against the Opfor.   There's nothing like leveling the playing field.  And when the Opfor depends heavily upon electronic surveillance, remove that capability and they're deaf and blind.  In any case, humanint will end up the most important; the difficulty will be distributing that information.

VCDL is a political single issue organization.  Not any type of 3% belief organization.  You need not be UC or CI or whatever.  If you are LEO or Fed or whoever, we still welcome you.

JM, did you take the right pills this morning.  You might have missed the blue one. Consider that deleted.  I did wrong.  Apologies sent.

If you need a second magazine, its time to call in air support.

God created Man, Col. Sam Colt made him equal, John Moses Browning turned equality to perfection, Gaston Glock turned perfection into plastic fantastic junk.
