About our neighbors
« on: August 03, 2017, 09:54:23 PM »
I've been reading that NKorea can put a missile over the center of the USA with an EMP weapon. They also have two satellites that go over the the USA. How does Mexico and Canada feel about this? In either case if they are set off they also will be affected. Will they join us or condemn us?
I think it would be in their best interest to join us but there is a huge problem. The deep state leaks all of President Trumps calls to other countries so any union would be a signal to NKorea.

Your thoughts.

The altitude that it goes off at determines how far it will effect. If NK is smart, they'll send many and pop them at 35 miles up. If they pop one at 300 miles up, they'll piss off a whole bunch of folks. On the other hand, we have to be mindful of what we send back to them. If we pop one too high up, it will affect, SK, Japan, NE China.

@pkveazey, just curious, are you suggesting 35 miles up to avoid LOS spill over near the border?  The magneto hydrodynamics would still take out unhardened satellites overhead- the compton effect moves along flux lines, down and up.  The atmosphere would dampen the gamma burst but E2 at that altitude would cause some noticeable physiological effects on people - including induced cellular damage.  Remember the leukemia clusters at the test facilities?

The satellites aren't my biggest fear. I don't think the DRPK thinks strategically.  My guess is that they want the "seas of fire" type boom.  With KJu's ego, he might hit LA in Cali.  They would probably use their sub to the west coast and pick a ground target.  I don't think many in the DPRK would notice a HEMP in retaliation.  I suspect NK would be hit from the north and south at the same time.  USofA and China might both agree on that.  Give whats left to Korea and the Americans agree to stay below the 38th parallel afterwards so Beijing can sleep at night.  China is probably more worried about the Korean expats around the river up there.  If the DPRK fell they would loose cheap labor but also loose the potential unrest.  The Chinese treat the Korean ethnic group worse than they treat the Tibetans.

Interesting tale...

Last Sunday a friend gave me a call while driving down to Jersey City with a load of cars on a trailer. He asked me if I wanted to go with him he would be driving past a rally point close to the cabin in 60 minutes. After clearing it with MrsMac I said sure.

Among other things to earn a living my buddy drives cars down to the port three times a week. These used cars are bought at auctions and then sent overseas to Nigeria.

Well to my surprise we drove right into the port in Jersey City and down to a holding area for these cars.

Once there my buddy offloaded the cars I wandered around. Walked right up to the water where there was a chain linked fence but that was it.

On the other side of the chain linked fence was southern Manhattan about three miles away, a cruise ship taking on guests and a dozen or so container ships loading & off loading cargo.

Walked back to my friends rig and climbed in the cab while he finished the paperwork for the shipment.

Now think about this: When passed through no security check point. Several times while we were there security did drive by but never stopped.

As we were leaving the port, I asked my friend this: What would prevent someone from driving down to this port and detonation a nuclear bomb?

So I bet if you do some more scouting you could even find a closer spot to Manhattan to detonate a bomb. What about a pleasure boat that docks at one of the marina's in the Wall Street area or West side of Manhattan.

If NK (Iran, Iis, etc) really wanted to nail us, why haven't they done something as simple as I described?

I have my thoughts however would like to read yours.

One of my stepsons is a security guard for NJ port authority. He docks the ships from all over the world. He said it is so easy for a nuke to be brought in that it is laughable. My neighbor is a docking master (ships captain) and he says the same thing. Very few ships are checked for WMD.

You are absolutely right. Bombs don't care who or what is near them. I also think that NK will target California, Oregon, and/or Washington State and not Kansas. Sorry folks, but I don't give a rats ass about the Liberal left coast.

Me thinks that NK wants to do an EMP strike. It is cleaner and will result in a total melt-down. Hence all of the missile talk.

Who thinks that NK is just the proxy fool for someone else? China, Russia, Iran, other? Just take us out of the equation for 1-2 years for "them" to execute on something else.

Russia rolling into western Europe. China taking over Taiwan, the entire Korea peninsula, and maybe Japan. Iran, the whole middle east.

Just some nasty food for thought.

That is part of the reason I moved from 100 miles west of Kings Bay, Ga sub base and 110 miles west of Savannah Ga shipping port to 200 miles west of Norfolk Va Navy base.

But Norfolk (navy, shipping and more of each in the close area) would deserve alot more than Savannah or Kings Bay.

But distance is good.  More is better.

If you need a second magazine, its time to call in air support.

God created Man, Col. Sam Colt made him equal, John Moses Browning turned equality to perfection, Gaston Glock turned perfection into plastic fantastic junk.
