MrsMac and I watched the SOTU last night. All and all, I thought it was a good speech but a tad long for my liking. Here are some of our thoughts in no particular order.
1) I loved all of the women who were dressed in white. I immediately thought of the Handmaids Tale,
2) AOC sure has a covey of hens around her. I suspect she pulls their strings.
3) Trump's humor was great
4) Although Trump lost the government shut-down battle he won the war. 76% of polled Americans likes his speech last night. He got to
speak directly to the American people. Rasmussen has him at 48% approval as of yesterday. Obama at this date, two years in
approval rating was 46%.
5) I think Nancy has ADHD. She fidgeted all night long.
If you watched it, what are your thoughts?

I echo your points, and I loved them panning to Bernie when he said "America will never be socialist". Even got a golf clap from Pelosi on that one.

Same from Schumer, but the rest sat on their hands.
Overall the speech was well worked. Started in history, came up through out time frame, highlighted things he has completed, has working and needs to do, laying out the future what we need to do and where we will not go, then a circle back to the past, and what we have achieved all along the way.
From D-Day to to the moon to never socialism to Dachau, all the time highlighting this is the US and freedom rings strong on this dirt, never to go or be taken away.
MSNBC, CNN and CBS News networks are freaking out over the idea that the general approval of it was in the 70% area.
Some were considering it his 2020 campaign opener. If so, the only thing the dems have on their side is Orangeman Is Bad.

Just think, ever media outlet carried it. What a way for Trump to talk directly to the citizens of this country. I read somewhere that it was the most viewed SOTU in decades.
With a 70%+ approval of the speech, ADHD Pelosi must be spitting nails.

Ocasio-Cortez appearently got slammed on twitter for appearing to look to others to know when it was okay to clap. And for refusing to clap when she should have such as TRUMP announcing the number of those arrested for sex slavery.
