I watched all the first season and I'm waiting for the 2nd one to start.
I really liked it, the only problem I found is that the combat scenes are very bland and short, I hope they solve that for the next season, probably was a monetary issue.

First season was decent. The writing was a little off at times, but generally well-done. Bring on the second season....Summer 2012.

My only issue with that show, is the weapons they are carrying.

yeah, I could understand some military grade M4's... but a full auto AK  full auto Sig 556's  HK MK23's

Just seems kind of hokey to me.

I'm glad someone else pointed that out. (Let's not forget that they're in Massachusetts, which is basically as fucked up as California) I also find it strange that nobody on the show has any kind of MOLLE gear or spare mags. That being said, it's a pretty good show.

For real, given an absence of authority it wouldn't take long at all for that type of stuff to pop up around here.

In my opinion the unlimited supplies of ammo are the most unrealistic aspect. The weapons will be coming out of the woodwork. Durable good vs consumables

To be honest, they didn't shoot much in the 1st season... I truly hope to see more combat in the 2nd one.

What I really didn't like, is that changing the material of the bullets they are now able to totally fuck up alien armor, is like they forgot the law of physics in that episode... but WTF! is just a TV series, if you want the real deal watch funker530 youtube channel :D

I've been watching it since it first came out.  Not a bad series.  There's a lot taken for granted but remember - if this, the walking dead, or any of the other series were to show how people went about the mechanics of surviving we'd end up with The Colony (which wasn't a bad show but needed some more realism).

I was trying to figure out where they got all the 40mm ammo for the gun mounted on the pick-up truck?

My only real bitch is how fake the gunplay is.

Another thing is. Where the hell do they get the awesome guns. I mean, yeah sure I can maybe except a few burst fire M4's (Stolen & or acquired stuff from army or guard stuff ) but a full auto Sig 556, Full auto AK's,

I mean shit, especially in Massachusetts of all places. Come on man, lets be realistic. You might, MIGHT find some M4's but you will not find the AK's and Sig's G3's and what not. Show makers should  [img]http://www.arrse.co.uk/at themselves on that note. Stupidity.

AND WHAT THE HELL HAPPENED TO THOSE BADASS BULLETS THEY MADE?!!?

Massachusetts is right next door to all those libertarian free staters in new hampshire. They prolly have some fun toys.
I think you guys are taking a show about Alien Invasion a little too seriously LOL

Great you guys have me now following a series, like I had piles of spare time (sarcasm
) Pretty entertaining show.

As far as the select fire stuff goes here's the dirty little secret that's not really a secret.
Civilian sales of "parts kits" over the years has resulted in a truly amazing availability of parts to "restore" semi auto versions of weapons to original function. Just the number of ak kits sold in this country containing the original fire control parts gives the government nightmares. Add in the vast quantities of select fire factory original police issued weapons including sigs, fns, hks... probably most of which will leave the dept if there is a breakdown of rol and you have a vast sea of military grade equipment very few could really comprehend. Hell I can hop in my truck and go get an old m39 lahti dewat and reactivate it in about a day (without rol of course), I even know where there's some ammo for it. If there's ever a sudden breakdown of society I for one am holing up till the idiots are done shooting up each other and the countryside. However, all said I suspect the number one killer in a grid down collapse may in fact be cholera and fires.

Semi auto AK's are one hole, one pin, and one fire control group away from Rock and fucking Roll.

Don't even need that.  No need to drill the receiver or buy additional parts - as long as you have a tailed disconnector.  Yeah you'll get some trigger slap but with a hand drill and some sheet metal snips it can be done and be reversible - trust me ;)
