and pretty good place to visit. I liked the magazine when it was out but they stopped publishing. I presume due to low circulation and advertising revenue.

I use to get Back Woods Home magazine too; However, as was already reported they closed shop. I think it was the publisher/editor wanted to retire and there were no buyers.
The same thing happened with Muzzeloader Mag too BUT a guy came in at the last minute and bought it.
Like everything in life, new fangled things like the interwize are a double edged sword. One of the byproducts of the interwize is paper news sources are becoming a thing of the past.

I subscribe to the Kindle version. $1.99 per month through Amazon. As I understand it the cost of the paper version was too much.
still a good magazine, but I think you are right that he probably is ready to retire. His daughter is now editor.

It might be a good idea to keep a whole bunch of paper editions of that magazine in a waterproof container in the BOL.

It was and is a good magazine. I actually wrote an article for them many years ago, and it was later re-printed in one of their annual anthologies. Purchasing and storing the annual anthologies would be a good way to keep most of the pertinent information. The old Mother Earth News from the 1970's and the 1980's a full of information too. I have a couple of the CD's and USB sticks for the Mother News collection and hard copies of issues the interest me. Along the same lines of the Foxfire books, they're really full of useful low-tech solutions. The later MEN cater too much to the yuppies.

for those who don't know its back in production the son took over the printing and is doing it now. Still a great magazine and has many good articles and writers for it.
