Title: South African Prepper here!

Hi everyone.

I am a South African residing in Cape Town, recently started actively prepping (have had a passion for prepping for years now, finally doing it). Posting on this forum because most people in the real world think I'm crazy when I try to talk about prepping. So far I have about 4 months of food stored and am assembling my water filtration kit(Sawyer and Berkey filters as well as iodine). I have several alternative light sources(who doesn't in this country with frequent power outages) and am working on general alternate power sources as well as security and my bug out bag. Still have a lot to do I know but I've just started! :)
I am keen to get in touch with any SA preppers on this forum so I know that I am not the only prepper in this country lol.

It sounds like you have a good head start on your preps  :thumbsUp:

Good small group of folks here on Unchainedpreppers many of which are in countries in the southern part of Africa. First check out UP's archives for some questions you might have. Don't hesitate jumping in with questions or to help out a fellow prepper.

Greetings and Salutations Good Sir, Hail and Well Met.

As far as water filtration, do not forget rocks, gravel and sand doing good things.  And watch out for large carnivorous animals.  You are not necessarily at the top of the food chain there.

Hey CP! Welcome! Good to see someone else from my neck of the woods on UP.  Good start so far, I've been prepping for yonks and I have never had more than 6 weeks of food reserve but I am more of a grow your own kind of guy.  Definitely keen to keep in contact.  Do you mind if I ask more or less what area of the Cape you're in?

Nemo, luckily down in Western Cape where we live the biggest predator we have is man, second is the occasional leopard.  They're scary as hell up close but don't like loud noises, same with baboons but baboons will still sometimes try to enforce their dominance.
