Title: New member and new to Ham
Post by: joejett on June 27, 2024, 04:22:38 PM
Hello from West TN.  I am new to Ham and stumbled upon your group.  I have a technician license and looking to get general soon. I also want to learn more about HF radio and Contestia.  I bought a Zeigu G90 and want to get it set up.

Welcome JoeJett,

I also have a G-90 and like it very much. You location should be good for the weekly ERIN net, on Mondays. It's good for the nets to be growing.  Hop in and get started.  There is plenty of advice here and some of it actually WORKS!  :lmfao:

Welcome Joejet. This is a great Prepper group. I'd say that probably half the people here are Hams and that will come in really handy when the SHTF. Definitely get your General ticket. A couple of people here have the G90 radios. JohnnyMac probably can be of great benefit on getting it properly set up. If I didn't already have a backup HF radio, I'd definitely buy a G90. I looked to see if you could use CHIRP to install your memory frequencies but it didn't show up on the list.

Joejett, welcome to UP.

It is a rather eclectic group with real life experiences in many subjects. The archives are full of volumes of wisdom.

Yes, I own a G90. Love that little radio. Last years 13-Colonies contest, I used it on 5W and got all stations but GB. Yes I got France.  :D

Anyway, welcome Joejett!
