Greetings Good Lady, Hail and Well Met.
Looking for a place to go I would suggest the Skyline Drive / Shenandoah National Park area. Far enough north to avoid the spring bug roll out yet far enough south to avoid real cold nights and mornings.
Skyline Drive, heading south, turns into the Blue Ridge Parkway and gives you several hundred miles of near perfection. I know, I an not far away and spent many a night and mile up there. On foot, on 2 wheels, on 4, and on 4 pulling 2 or 4.
Hunt up 2 mountains, Sharp Top and Flat Top and you are on one of the best sections.

Thank you, sir, I am familiar with both! I have been there several times myself.

If you get up on top of either, look in the right direction and through the trees, with the sun in a good position and wind blowing leaves right, you might see me on my deck looking back.

Welcome Godsgirl56!
Great group of gals and guys here with rather eclectic tastes, which makes it educational for sure.
If you get a chance, please check out the archives as there is some great stuff there.
Glad you found us...

In the Adirondacks, there are a number of free campsites around Horseshoe Lake, just southwest of Tupper Lake. There are also free campsites in the St. Regis Canoe Area. At this time of year you could possibly be dealing with significant amounts of snow on the ground. I know last year on April 1st, there was still 1-2 feet of snow on the ground.

Thank you all! and Hello. I have been peeking at this site over my dad's shoulder for a while now and decided to join in. some of you may know him PKVEAZEY.

Oh yeah we ALL know PK.
I was going to write something derogatory to put a smile on your face. I can't as he is a good man.

T hank you, Well, he has taught me a lot. I was out at his place yesterday, listening to the group on his Ham radio. I have a small handy Talkie that can hear up to 20 miles away. I kept meaning to get something better just never got around to it. I think That's the funny thing about all that's going on always thought I had time. could never have imagined things progressing so fast.
-
Nobody ever imagines that fast.

Careful now, he is in Va. He cannot be a hooligan. Thems are generally yankees.
