For all intents and purposes, I am done with FaceBook. To keep in contact with friends I signed up yesterday for Gab.com

Excellent idea JMac. I ditched Facebook back in 2013. It was great in college to find parties, but once I got out it was absolutely pointless.

My personal favorite moment was when I was defending liberty and some liberal told me that they wished the world would end in 2012 because it would kill me. That was a badge of honor for me  :lmfao: :lmfao:

I continue to use FB to interact with high school classmates, find information on local events (I won't subscribe to the local newspaper, but that is another story), and messenger with family members in other states/countries.
I spend too much time correcting English and grammar in it though... It has also been useful for selling things for me.
Can't give it up here yet...

I will say that I have a burner account for OSINT data collection. Very useful.

So I originally gave it up as part of a "100 Days of Freedom from Facebook" challenge thing. I wrote on my status "If anyone wants to chat, here is my email address. Hit me up". After 55 days, I heard from no one. It occurred to me at that point that these people were acquaintances but that I really didn't care enough about what was going on to warrant the stress.

At the time, there was a small window where Facebook didn't just allow you to deactivate your account but actually delete it. So I downloaded all of my data (posts, pictures, comments, messages, etc) and deleted it.
