Can some mod please remove this from my name area... i dont like it, its very missleading and makes us look like militia men with rankings and crap. I can totally see the media twisting the crap out of it.
Thanks,
-Kenny

i think only admin can do that. i don't think mods have that ability.

Can i speak to your manager please..
-
lol.

I agree with you Ken, we are working on making that change forum wide. It was some jackwagons idea in the first place.. I am looking at you 505th..
-
I don't mind the "veteran of foreign war" tag, because it's true.

Thanks TG ive been away a while and looking at it now, it makes no sense to me.

The tag you guys are talking about are based on post counts. They are military ranks and I supposed the last few (representing the most active board members and esteemed community members) are a bit strong. I think the war hero tag is seperate from that as well. So what should the two highest statuses be titled? I perfer Master Chief and / or Rick Grimes. Yes I want it to say "Rick Grimes" as my status.
-
Ok well leave the war hero name section open to the users choosing or delete it. As far as the post rankings you should do away with military themed rankings. I never have been or ever will be in the military and i dont like the confusion.
-
Since this is supposed to be a prepper site maybe:
New Prepper
Prepper
Master Prepper
-
Check your tag Kenspastic... [url=http://yoursmiles.org/p-m
The post count is a ranking system for board activity. So the choice to use military ranks was based on convienance. I changed it.

That ain't right either JMac...

goddammit 505th...

505TH, YOUR SOLUTION IS BAD

AND YOU SHOULD FEEL BAD

Operator is a fucking stupid term. Its just a title that guys at the range throw around to give themselves tactical hardons.
-
I suggest Kobalt's new title to be "Community Agitator." >:D
-
Somebody bring something to the table; What should the name of the highest status on this board be? Ken said it was offensive and I agreed and changed it. As far as I'm concerned problem solved.
The tag in question was originally for members of LnL only as well, but is granted to the best individuals on the board based on attitude and participation. FYI
-
Fixed it. No one fuck with it. I'm moving this thread to the board it should have been on in the first place and then I'm gonna watch some PBS.
505th OUT.
-
Maybe it should just say "An equally important individual" for everyone?... LMAO...
-
I suggest Kobalt's new title to be "Community Agitator." >:D
Just speakin the truth bro.

I dont see operater on here anywhere... Was that what 505 had as my title for a while or something? If so that would explain my dick randomly getting hard while i was watchin TV earlier.
-
Yeah he had it as skilled operator then serious operator or some shit like that. I agree with Kobalt on this one.

The highest should be BURT GUMMER, no doubt about it in my mind! LOL

Burt Gummer: Food for five years, a thousand gallons of gas, air filtration, water filtration, Geiger counter. Bomb shelter! Underground... God damn monsters.
I'm fairly sure he had a lot of MRE's stocked up as well. LOL

My rank over at another site is: My gun is surgically attached
I don't find it very offensive, because it really is with me everywhere I can legally go with it.
Here is the rest of the handle name to posting scale for where I post currently. Its not a bad system and nobody really bitches about it. Also, it could be adapted to meet our needs here at StraightPrep.
0 - 49 = Newbie
50 - 499 = Gun Toter
500 - 999 = Regular
1000 - 1499 = Addict
1500 - 1999 = Guns are my life
2000 - 4999 = Common Law Spouse
5000 - up = My gun is surgically attached
0-49 = Straight Prep Newbie
50 - 499 = Prepper
500 - 999 = Straight Prep Regular
1000 - 1499 = Straight Prep Addict
1500 - 1999 = Prepping is my life
2000 - 4999 = Straight Prep Common Law Spouse
5000 - up = Burt Gummer
I mean it doesn't have to exactly be those number of posts or even have to be those exact handles. I'm just throwing around ideas, bro.
0-49 = 1st level
50-199 = 2nd level
200 - 399 = 3rd level
400 - 699 = 4th level
700 - 1099 = 5th level
1100 - 1999 = 6th level
2000 - 3999 = 7th level
Plus 4000 = 8th and Final Level
I mean, we don't have to follow any of these numbers, but I'm just saying, come up with a scale kind of like that, and it might be fun.
-
Here are my ideas for the different levels....based on what we are all really thinking:
Beginner: "Prepping curious"
Intermediate: "Gun curious"
Regular: "Red-flagged by government surveillance software"
Heavy user: "Wanted for questioning by the DHS"
Very heavy user: "Potential patsy"
Next to highest level: "Wanted domestic terrorist"
Highest level: "Government agent posing as a prepper" 8)
-
Why not just keep it fairly simple? Like your either a newbie (up to 25 posts), member, moderator, admin. Using the stars to represent different post counts is fine.
-
KISS guys, lets not over think this one.
On another note:
Maybe levels shouldn't be based on how many posts you have made but how much have you contributed to helping preppers, e.g. Video's, true life stories, DIY stuff???
Yet on another note how about:
0- 50 posts within a year = Has a life
50 - 500 posts within a year = unemployed
500 - 1000 posts within a year = unemployed and sitting in mom & dad's basement in their scivies
1000+ posts within a year = Mall Ninja!
:)) :)) :)) Sorry TG & 505th, I just couldn't resist.

I like the change.
