I just went to applaud a member and was asked to state the reason.  I'm curious what the point of that is and who does that information go to (paranoid much)?

I'm not trying to be an asshole, but if I have to state my reason for applauding members when they provide great input, I'm less likely to applaud people.  In fact, I have never smited anyone, but it is much easier for me to say "because they're a dick", so I think I will start doing that instead...

Can I just leave the reason section blank, or does the NSA have an algorithm for that too?

You can type whatever you want, from a "." to a "bravo" or something to encourage the member being karmed.

Is nice to know who, where and why someone applauds or smites you, the person who gets karmed will be able to see all that in his karma log.
Before that, you just noticed your karma had changed when you posted, but didn't have any more info about it.

I like the current karma system, much better than anonymous smiting.

I prefer the person to know im applauding them. Whats the point in being nice if i dont get credit for it? Thats like throwing money in a tip jar and the employee never notices. Lol

I guess I'm alone in my preferences, but I liked to think it was the universe giving me props or telling me to check myself before wrecking myself and not some random dude in Georgia, no offense GAP :o

Thanks for the insight and the Seinfeld throw back guys!
