The POTUS
« on: January 24, 2017, 10:16:25 AM »
Wow, it's amazing! What a difference. For 8 years, I got up everyday and wondered, " What is he going to do to us today?" Now I get up and wonder, "What is he going to do for us today?" It's nice to finally have an employee that is trying to do what is best for his employer. That doesn't mean we don't have to keep an eye on him. Even a good employee can screw things
up if you don't keep an eye on them.

I find myself turning on the news at noon, to see what good/bad stuff Trump did in the morning. I have not been disappointed as yet except for the that stupid news conference Saturday night.

Yup, so far, so good. I hope he continues with rational decisions.  I'm a little concerned about the South China Sea situation.

Reportedly he is down to 3 on the most important thing he can/wil/could possibly do during his presidency.  It may occur again a time or maybe even 2.

That is SCOTUS nominee.

Can someone please explain me what is the point of building a fucking wall?
Isn't the border already controlled with wire, border patrols and drones?

Walls are medieval, Israel did one on Gaza that is way smaller and Palestinians constantly traffic stuff using tunnels.

Enforcing the immigration laws already on the books would be a more efficient use of the money.

Because then we would be tied up in the courts. Cases would go on forever while they get a 100% free ride and they will disappear into the population.
The wall is a symbol, not to the drug dealers who are the tunnel builders but to deter those who want to come here for free living.

Both google and bing won't tell you how much they get but say they pay taxes. If they pay taxes where did the get their SSI number from? I would guess they stole one.

Alright...I guess the days of instant deportation are long gone due to libtard legislation...but how 'bout we bring it (instant deportation) back.  It would be more practical than a wall.  Could it be that Trump just wants a historical monument, possibly visible from space, as his legacy?

How will a wall avoid you being "tied up in the courts"? How will a wall avoid an illegal to go through  a tunnel and live of free welfare anyway?
Instead of spending millions just to create a symbol, wouldn't be better to invest that money in actions that would really fix the issue?

Also, who is the enemy, your neighbor and partner since years or drug dealers and illegal immigrants?

If something is asinine, it's asinine even if you voted for the one who is implementing it.

Before you can shoot, you must load. The wall is just the loading. There will be a screaching sound when he cuts off the welfare and free healthcare for the illegals.Trump is a loudmouth, but he's no dumbass.

Your demanding it work 100% and nothing works 100%. A wall worked in China in Roman controlled England and in Israel and many other places.
Tunnels big enough to allow that many illegals to pass thru would have to be as big as NY Holland tunnel. With a wall built more energy can be put to drug dealers who by the way use home made submarines, airplanes and fast boats besides tunnels. And crooked boarder agents.

Why is their a wall around the Presidents House in Washington DC (The White House)? Did anybody know that former President Obama new rental digs in the suburbs of Washington DC - A new wall was put up? Just learned that Face Books CEO Zuckerberg 400 acre PLUS estate in Hawaii a wall is being erected?

Walls are as old as mankind.

Now the southern border of the US is not 100% walled, wired or fenced. Is it more feasible to use modern technical devises to monitor  the wall vs. a actual "beautiful wall"? I will not alpine on that however, like what JoJo wrote, "...The wall is a symbol..." and a campaign promise.

Some things folks here may not know is that the number one export from the USofA to Mexico is cash. Cash in the form of legal and ILLEGAL workers sending their paychecks home. I have no problem with legal workers doing what they will with their honest days toil but the illegal's earning illegal money and then sending it home gets my hackles up. Then we have the cash from the drug purchases.

The last sixteen-years, President Bush and Obama have allowed the exodus of illegal people to come across our borders. These illegals take jobs, and many participate in illegal activities like: drug selling, murder, rape, child slavery, et cetera. These illegals flood our hospitals and schools and pay not one red penny to society.

So I happen to agree with many folks that want to first, close the border. Then second, round up illegals who are committing crimes and exporting them to their nation of birth rather than the illegal cash "they" export. Third, leave the non law breaking illegals alone for the moment but hold the companies feet to the fire who hire them, as they will self immigrate if they do not have a job.

Last, if a wall will help curtail their illegal return or first entry, then I am all for it.

In closing, there was actually $10B put aside for the fence in 1986 by the then President Reagan and a bipartisan Congress which in essence has been sitting on the books since then. Maybe those dollars would be better spent as some here have suggested, by using a virtual wall, which I am all for. However, some form of a wall needs to be erected - Be it stone & mortar, electrified & monitored chain link, or a wall of death rays.
