Survival Reality Shows
« on: December 09, 2016, 03:39:34 AM »
Am I the only person to notice how many things are overlooked by survivalists on reality shows? Not once have I ever seen anyone who needs tender for starting a fire, use their hair. Hell, that stuff is almost like gunpowder. In situations where people have to hunker down and stay put, they never build shelters out of Mud Bricks or Rocks. They always work themselves to death using flimsy crap that any wild animal could destroy in seconds. I've never seen any of them make clay pots or wooden spoons. I don't know how those Nimrods survive. How come, on those shows, they don't have some old codger like me? They need to show old folks how to survive too.

Too funny, Kbop - I was going to reference the same guy!  It's clear to me that on reality shows or in real life, very few preppers have ever tried to either live off the land or do any sort of subsistence living.  Many seem to be armchair quarterbacks that pour money into the pockets of the long-term food storage companies or weapons-makers.

If you need a second magazine, its time to call in air support.

God created Man, Col. Sam Colt made him equal, John Moses Browning turned equality to perfection, Gaston Glock turned perfection into plastic fantastic junk.

Anyone watch the new MacGuyver?

I have watched a few shows and there has been several situations where he tried to build something and it took him 12 steps to get it done.

I could have done it in 3 and quicker, easier, less parts, more reliable and more successful.

But it is fun to watch.

Oh, No. I think I'm going to puke. Tonight on Little People, that nimrod Mat Roloff, decided to become a prepper. With no plan, and his usual bull in a china shop tactics, he bought a cargo container and started prepping. I'm not going to begin to list all the newbee mistakes he made. It was like watching a train wreck. I wanted to look away, but couldn't. I had to see what stupid crap he was going to do next. The only thing that he did right, was to start prepping.
