Title: No Time To Die
Post by: Nemo on February 06, 2022, 10:37:04 AM
New Bond movie.  Went to see it last evening.  It sucks in general and specifics.  Do not waste the money.

Remember the discussion of a non-white 007? Or a female 007?

Well, guess what?

Similar movie should/could be made with the protagonist a Supreme Court nominee.
Properly done (within the bounds of Chyna approvals) it could rival "The Pelican Brief".

The movie did not go there but she surely could be.  Also, the new 007 fit both categories questioned above.

It was even worse than the Roger Moore Bond movies. Now that Daniel Craig is done, I'll probably never watch another one. At least I watched it online, so it didn't cost me anything, other than wasting a couple hours of my time.

To add on to what FF wrote, MrsMac nor I have been to a real move theater in years. Years before the Covid lock outs. It has been so long, I have forgotten what movie we saw.

It was a matinee that cost us $12- apiece. Then we were looked upon as leapers because we did not pre-pick our seats using the movie theaters app. and were expected to pick our seats from a computer screen at the register.

After paying our $24- a medium diet Coke was $5- and a medium popcorn was about the same in price. So $34- to watch a matinee movie. I could only wonder what a prime time movie cost.

Now we watch a movie through streaming it. If one of us has to go to the head, we pause the movie. I do not drink a diet coke I drink an ice tea or a nice glass of wine. Cost is ~$5- for the movie, plus a dollar or two for drinks and snacks.

Priceless!

How about the new 007 being Whoopie Goldberg?

We have a real cheap seats place in our area.  Any movie before 6pm is $3.  After 6pm its $4 and low prices Tuesday, all before 6pm is $2.  But get a large coke and big bucket of popcorn and it will run about $18 for that.

So go mid afternoon with a granola bar or 2 and bottle of water in the big purse.

That's too bad.  I've been following James Bond both in the literary form and theatrical form for well over 50 years.  Sounds like wokism is going to kill the golden goose.  The latest James Bond novel Forever and a Day by Anthony Horowitz also sucks, I couldn't even finish it, which is extremely rare for me.  The snowflakes are destroying the franchise.
