Hi all,
I decided when I was really in to hiking to create a daily log, this was my answer to keeping a record for the year of how many miles I actually hiked. Not sure if anyone needs this or knows anyone who needs more PT, but figured it's daily training journal.
I figured since most preppers really slack on the PT end maybe this is something worth putting out (and I'm planning on using it for myself again over writing on cheap calendar, and hoping I don't miss hikes to record.)...

Unsure about where this would fall in the topic sections since it's not really a book. @JohnyMac -Admins can dump this if it's against the rules.

It's great weather for hiking! We hit the trails recently, so refreshing mentally, in addition to physically. Thanks for the encouragement to keep up the PT.

I'm one of those old dudes who go to the gym a couple times a week. Medicare (UHC part C plan) covers the cost and its rather fun. 20 mins or so of treadmill and some iron pumping actually is.
I get $10 if I make it (or just report 30 mins of exercise) 10 days a month.
I won't need to go climb a mountain. When the libs rise up I plan on just pushing them back down.

My Dutch Shepherd is reaching the end of her life so to keep her moving I again have taken to going on twice a day walks with her. This seems to help keeping her active and keep the digestive track working well. Sedative folks and canines have an issue with that if they become sofa jockey's.
Of late I bring a small backpack (GOD or Comms) and on occasion, I wear my basic minute man chest rig too. If I really feel energetic I lug along an M4 or shotgun. Bears are coming out of hibernation with cubs around here so I lean towards a shotgun loaded with slugs. Our Dutchie HATES BEARS with a passion and has treed and/or chased a few.
Keep moving folks...Keep moving.

Fitness is so important for quality of life and etc. Unfortunately, I am at a point in life where my pace counter should be attached to my cane. OTOH, a cane makes a fine weapon ;-) There is nothing like being able to WALK :trolling: to where you need to be. Add to that the fact that even simple ricking ( hiking at a brisk pace with a load on your back.) is a wonderful exercise. So, if you're 15 miles away, and have 5 hours to sunset, you could just make it home. Otherwise it is an EASY two day walk.
As the old addage goes: "The best time to plant a tree is TEN years ago. The second best is right now." The same applies to exercise. Yes I wish I maintained my fitness from years ago, but the fact is that I didn't. So the best I can do now, is to start now.
Back to my espresso double shot and book about 'The Zen of Radio Telegraphy', or as I like to call it "Radio TELEPATHY".

I love to exercise! I'm thankful to have an exercise room at home that includes a treadmill, stair master, weights/weight bench. My favorite exercise is pushups and at least 30 minutes on the stair master. I'm currently able to do 100 pushups, but I break it down into sets of 30, 25, 25, 20. I need to work on doing core exercises. I had a lot more exercise in my life before ham radio, but it took so much time to learn everything that exercise started getting less time. Before ham radio, I was doing a 4 minute plank, but now I haven't even tried to do a plank. I had a conversation with a friend last week and we are going to encourage each other to focus on our fitness goals, mine is a stronger core. Hope we all have a fitness goal to be working toward, it is so important.
