Title: Musicians
Post by: pkveazey on February 10, 2018, 04:25:13 PM
My wife and I were discussing some things that we would grab and go if we had to bug out of our Bug In location. After going through the obvious things that would keep us alive, I mentioned my acoustic guitar. She turned her head like a dog looking at you like he doesn't quite understand and said, "What?". I explained that since I'm a highly trained musician and there might not be electricity available, the acoustic guitar would be more useful. When people are unable to go anywhere and do anything, they get bored real quick. Since I'm quite good, I could play pretty chord solos and probably at least get us something to eat by playing for people. Its kind of like if you were a Doctor or Mechanic and needed to survive on the road. Even if I couldn't get some eats by playing, I might get some eats by teaching guitar as we traveled. I don't recommend doing this if you suck at guitar playing.

acoustic music will make a huge comeback in a collapse.  grab a bunch-o fake books and go to town!  Find a luthier and you have it made :)

Music will be necessary in a collapse. People need it to calm down and to take their minds off of their problems.

I've got the Luthier thing covered. When I retired, I went to work in a music store as a Guitar Tech for almost 10 years. Hey! That's something else I could do on the road. I could repair guitars.

And you can always burn your guitar if you need dry kindling during a cold wet winter!
