Well my wife and I have purchased a home south of the Mason/Dixon line. The closing was this week, so I guess that officially makes us damn yankees. We're looking forwards to shorter, warmer winters.

Nope, not dayum yankees. yankees live up north. Dayum yankees come south to visit. Gdayum yankees come south to live.
But there are parts south of that line that are not actually south. Maryland for example.

Just be sure to scout the far bank if you try to make it south of the James! You might be sighted as you look.

Negative, it's a movie reference from the original "Red Dawn", which is where "John has a long mustache" comes from too. Kbop recognized the reference. Resistance messages were broadcast by clandestine transmitters, and hidden messages were embedded in their transmissions. It's a great movie, the remake was mediocre, using North Koreans as the enemy forces, though it was suppose to be Chinese forces, but the Chinese were financially backing the film, so the North Koreans became the bad guys. You'll see occasional references to "John has a long mustache", when someone wants to clue another one that there's a hidden meaning in what is being said or written.

I got the John mustache and chair wall from D-Day. But I did completely miss out on the Red Dawn reference.
