With South America going the way of Zimbabwe (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Land_reform_in_Zimbabwe), I am sure many native South Africans are regretting their decision to a) register their firearms in 2000 and/or b) allow confiscation of non-legal weapons.
With the ongoing gun debate here in the States, it is important to see how well gun control has worked in other countries like:
USSR (1920's),
Germany (1930's),
China (1950's),
Vietnam (1970's),
Warsaw countries during Nazi occupation (1940-44),
among others and of course South Africa (2000) the reason for this post.
To learn more on South African Firearms Control Act 60 of 2000 go here (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Firearm_legislation_in_South_Africa).

I almost wish I had some to not register. Really hated (and I mean really really hated) having to sell some of my old reliables.

Yes, what are these firearms of which you're speaking?
