Post Barry's Speach...
« on: September 08, 2011, 09:52:26 PM »
Has anybody noticed a higher volume of Propaganda on a possible threat for this weekend post Barry's speech? Ridge called me right after the speech and we both commented on this heightened rhetoric.

Some tin foil hat things to think about:

1) Is this an excuse to deploy more LEO's / military?
2) Is this a screen play to bolster Barry?
3) If something does happen will it be Moslem Terrorists, Tea Party folks or white supremacists?

Stay tuned gents...Something is in the wind.

I see smoke screen. there may be a hreat but why would they anounce it right after the speech and not before. Could it be to keep the house repubs from having imediate air time to comment on barrys speech??????? Or maybe somthing is going down. I dont know.

The amount of noise concerning the threat is driving me crazy! I really think it is a red herring. But why? Publicity with it being so close to 9/11? It's covering up something else? Now there is a shit-ton of copy pack-en AR15's in NYC. Is the Mkt going to collapse? Is it because of the Union Protest on the 17th?

Sorry guys and gals but the hairs on the back of my neck ar standing up right now.

The "not" news is saying that an informant says 3 terrorists are planning attacks for tomorrows anniversary celebrations.

There was fear mongering but it was different.  Some ways more intense at times and less intense at other times.  We didn't have access to instant information back then.  You had the daily news paper every morning and the national news on TV every evening.

Everyone was concerned the Commies were going to take over the world.  (Looking around it kinda looks like they did as for as the U.S. is concerned.)

I was 8 years old during the Cuban Missile Crisis when we all knew nuclear hell was about to rain down from heaven .  I still remember the fear on all of the adult's faces.  It was like they were all under a horrible strain. I saw it on their faces everywhere, at home, at school, at church and at the store.  There was some pretty intense fear mongering going on only we had good reason to be afraid.

Edit:  A moment of silence here in honor of Ronald Reagan.  Him, me, and a bunch of other guys stood eyeball to eyeball with the Soviet Union.  They blinked after about 30years.

Hey Sledge; do you remember the air raid drills in school?

The siren would go off and we would all go into the hall, face the wall, kneel down and cover our heads. The lights were all off during these drills.

I remember watching Ruby shoot Oswald as it happened on a small B&W TV. I ran and told my mom and she didn't believe me.

Or the whole family huddled around the TV watching the riots in Chicago during the Dem's convention.

With all of that said, I do not remember the hype we are seeing this weekend.

lol, Yeah JohnyMac, I remember watching those black and white movie clips of duck and cover in school.

Oh, what fond memories those bring back.

I remember when Kennedy was elected.  A lot of people couldn't believe a Catholic had been elected President.  Now look at the Muslim/Socialist we have in the White House.

I remember when Kennedy was shot too.  I remember a lot of people were crying.  I remember on TV that parade in Washington when they buried him.  Especially the little boy saluting his father's casket being pulled by horses.  A lot of people cried then too.

How about when we landed on the Moon?  A lot of pride that day.  We beat the Russians.  Yea for our team!

Yep, a different time and a totally different place.  Almost like it was a different country somewhere else.

Sledge,
I realize we are boring most of the folks on this forum BUTTTT...

When Kennedy was shot I was 7 and really didn't understand the ramifications of the event. I remember being sent home from school early. I had just received this really cool handgun. It was a 6 shooter you put cartridges in that had a spring in the center of the brass and a plastic bullet.

You pulled the trigger and the plastic bullet would fly out at about 250 fps. Anyhow I degrees.

I got home; grabbed my 6 gun and went outside to look for some injuns.  The next door neighbor came out and started to scream at me. You know, "how dare you run around with a gun during this time!" I went home and  whined to my mom who told me to if I was going to play with the gun to play inside.

I sat in front of the already on TV, tuned to the Kennedy assassination news and sat there spinning the cylinder of my 6 gun.  Man I was warped!
