it can't be it's SNOWMAGEDON (I'll do some projects)

I have been super busy with work and family, coaching soccer, busy time at work etc and ya'll haven't seen me since Thanksgiving or so.  I've only been to the range ONCE. I'm gonna make up for it today.

When I do get some time at home all I want to do is relax and facebook and watch youtube vids.

OK, I live in the DEEP south- like less than a mile from the Gulf- and when the dreaded S word gets mentioned there is a PANIC.  I grew up substantially farther North so no big deal to me.  Anyway I have a couple of free days.

So I'm gonna make a public list of things I want to accomplish and post pics to make myself honest and not curl up with the dogs and netflix.  These are projects that have been waiting for a while- I ordered the parts or have the parts but haven't found the time.

#1 Change out my mount for the IR flashlight on my go to rifle

#2 paint the new sight and IR laser

#3 Build a bump proof box for my SPARK

#4 Trim the Kydex on the holster a buddy made for me

#5 Get pics and update the line gear portion of my website (8 years old and two chest rigs ago)

#6 Some other nicknacks on the website

#7 Keep my son off of the iPad for two days straight

I'm in socks, a fleece and sweatpants, I just finished some pancakes and will begin shortly.

As Crudos wrote, a good way to spend a "snow day!"

Do you have a video or write-up on what goes into a three day patrol pack? I quickly looked on your site www.everycitizensolider.org but didn't see one.

That is driven by mission and climate, but these might give you an idea.  Moldular pouches allow for the adition of mission items like NODs or radios.

Here are mini projects #1 and #2 as well as a stack of cardboard targets I made.

The laser is a Lasermax, the mount for the IR light is a MAKO/IDF offset.  I needed something that comes on and off easily so I can switch to visible light.  The sight is a Daniel Defense knockoff. I had them unpainted while I was testing the concept.

Here is mini project #3.  The box is an old GP first aid box.  The lining is an old German sleeping mat that my son uses. (It's still plenty long enough for him.) I tried to use some foam pipe insulation but couldn't get it uncurled enough.  It is hot-glued in. Now I can carry my NOD and associated stuff around without concern.

Don't forget to put a little packet or two of desiccant in your sealed NOD case, if you haven't already.
