Grid Down: Argentina, Uruguay, Paraguay
« on: June 17, 2019, 09:40:44 AM »
As many of you are aware, there was a major "grid down" situation in South America yesterday. Some of us have heard from our friend in Argentina APX808 that all is OKAY within his family. Thank heavens. However, he did point out that there was a national election on Sunday so there is some speculation on who, what, why, and how it happened.

Many of us prep for different disasters ranging from local weather events to pandemics and even a EMP. My major fear is a grid down drama.

I read somewhere that if the USofA lost electricity for one-year, 90%+ of the population would die. This is my greatest concern.

Some things to think about are:

> Was the South American "black out" a localized event or was it an attack from a adversary?
> If it was a adversary, what was the purpose? Maybe a warning from China or Russia towards enter
   region here

> Will the next World War be fought with cyber attacks rather than bombs and bullets?
> Other????

Lets take some time to reflect on these questions and others that may come from this written discussion.

Have at it....

If you need a second magazine, its time to call in air support.

God created Man, Col. Sam Colt made him equal, John Moses Browning turned equality to perfection, Gaston Glock turned perfection into plastic fantastic junk.

As a preschool boy I remember going to the outhouse, my parents killing chickens, going to the "you-pick" fields and canning vegetables.  The grocery store was Mom and Pop about 2 blocks away.

Then came the announcement of a super market so we drove across town got into a long line and inched our way around all the isles in single file through an amazing array of food stuffs.  And never killed another chicken or canned another mason jar.  Skills were lost and detachment from our food supply is the victim.

A long term loss of electricity will set us back as a nation without the skills of yesterday.  Our home is supplied by water from the City sent to us by electric water pumps.  I could keep the fridge on for a while with our portable genset but at some point the without gas pumped by electric pumps that will stop as well as the vehicles.

But I preach to the choir here and am very concerned about the possibility of this happening here.

Hey guys, I'll let you know are surfaces from the investigations, luckily everything is under control now and I was happy to have a battery power AM radio, a police scanner and a way to recharge the cellphones, although there was no cellphone network or land line phones, as all emergency generators ran out of fuel after a few hours... Also, lesson learned, I strongly suggest you guys to get some old school entertainment, boredom its a pain in the neck.

Anyway you know shit like this already happened in the US not so long ago? Check this out:

Glad all is OK APX.

Some good links and entertainment considerations are a must.

I just read that the NYT's reported that the USofA is working on shutting down Russia's grid.

I wouldn't believe the New York Times if they had a midday report that the sun was shining.

Trial run for a cyber attack?
Blessed be the LORD my strength, which teacheth my hands to war, and my fingers to fight: My goodness, and my fortress; my high tower, and my deliverer; my shield, and he in whom I trust; who subdueth my people under me.

Psalm 144:1-2
