Boy's its getting bad
« on: July 12, 2020, 02:37:57 PM »
I have been away for some time. Moving from state to state for work etc etc. The moving makes prepping such. I'm in north Carolina now but have food stock, guns, ammo, jars, and supplies im various locations in Georgia. Now that's not necessary a bad thing... but shit is getting real and I honestly don't have time to make runs down to pick up my supplies. I'm talking 4 hours one way and about 4 maybe 5 trips to get everything. My thought is starting making small trips get ammo, weapons, and what other supplies I can fit in the car. But I have a large tractor with front end loader, rounder hay baler, and a hay rake i would really like to have. But at the homestead here I have a 32 hp tractor with loader, backhoe attachment, and the various attachments.  I feel like I need to get everything and get it here but my spare time is vary precious.

never leave home without weapons and ammo period... Find a way to make everything else fit, rent a trailer and make many trips, enlist friends and family to help, whatever is necessary...

If you live in a "Shall Issue" state that's possible but I live in a "May Issue" state. I have applied for a CCDW permit and only have two more requirements to get it. One is fingerprinted and the other is approval by the state. I go for fingerprinting on the 22nd of this month.
They don't make it easy but it's not impossible. One requirement is to advertise for five days in a news outlet. Last month I counted 50 applications and this month there is 68 and that is just in the two least populated counties.

I can sympathisize with you, as I'm at a relatively new AO.  I've left equipment at my other place which is over 1000 miles away.  I also need to sell the old place too.  The Chinese virus has certainly complicated travel and business.  If I go to my old place I'll be quarantined.  At this point I'm delaying any long trips, especially since the virus seem to be re-surging.  My important equipment is here, but I need to wrap things up.   I guess the important thing is to set priorities, and then follow through.

The person requesting a CCDW permit, $16.00. There is also a shooting course to complete $195.00 and you supply your own 100 rounds of ammo, a passport photo $12.00 also $65.00 for fingerprinting. You also need five friends to sign a statement why you want the permit whom they will call and interview.

Good Lord!  They make it aggravating, don't they?  I've got to renew mine this year.  That will take 30 minutes at the county tax office.  Normally, you could just walk in, but right now they are requiring appointments.  They have computers in the tax office tied to the state.  New applicants get everything done right there.  They do require a certificate from firearm safety class if you don't have a DD214.

I'm not worried about a permit. I moved to an unlicensed open carry state. I just want my stuff. Im not short on weapons or ammo. I just have several thousand rounds more, about 40 mags, several loaded belts and the belt feds sitting in a safe spot down there. The some food and more gear stashed at another location. Then the tractor and other equipment i inherited. I would love to pay a truck driver with a 53 footer to go pick it up in one shot but everyone I have contacted is a no go. And right now with the new homestead I have much work to do and no time to do it. Hell I have to pump out the bunker again as apparently I didn't find all the holes the previous owner put in the floor of it. So much for my root cellar  :lmfao:
