A new scam out there!
« on: September 01, 2017, 11:45:18 AM »
 Well it's new to me.
I didn't receive my medication from my on line pharmacy so I called them and they said the post office said it was undeliverable and sent it back. When my postman came the next day I asked him and he said all of my mail is being forwarded to a new address. I went to the post office and the manager not only corrected the error but he told me he gets complaints at least one hundred a month. He also said it is easy for someone to go on line and change somebody's address. I asked about my retirement check which also didn't come in, no luck there. My company said they can't cash it and will write me another one in 7 business days. I also notified my credit card companies just in case.
Med's don't get forwarded they get sent back.

You are the second person to mention this to me in the past month or so JoJo. With that said, didn't you have some credit card issues a year back or so? I wonder if this these events are related in some way.

Yes JohnyMac twice I had my card numbers stolen in NJ and once my card company caught one that I didn't know about.
The Postmaster said "Anyone can go on the USPS web site and change someones address. They don't have a fix for it yet"
I know there are a number of people with the same name as mine and one even lives here in Delaware. So does my ex.

 UPDATE

Who ever it was he got my retirement check, Life insurance payment bill, and my Comcast bill never came in I called them and payed on line. Today I got a letter from Bank of America asking me to unlock my credit score accounts so they can issue a card. I called them and said I didn't ask for a card. A new retirement check will be here next Monday.
If I didn't catch this when I did that letter would have gone to the hacker and he might have been able to unlock my scores.
BOA would not tell me the email address of the hacker but are making charges of fraud.
Man would I like to know who.

Get new bank.  BoA is strongly anti-gun.

Donations and support to the "need to ban and outlaw" them clowns.

Based on the posts I figured no card for you.  But it was a good opening to mention the other things folks need to know and may not.

 Up date

I didn't get the second mailing of my meds which got my wife thinking that we should know what address my mail was going to. We went to the post office and got a big shock. Who ever did it noticed it was changed back  and had my mail again forwarded to Florida.
I must have caught it just in time because I got my mail yesterday. Waiting for the mail man now.

WOW, this saga goes on and on.

I know that this temporary solution is only temporary however, maybe it is time to go to a PO box. Don't notify the PO of the change ONLY the companies directly you do business with.
