A Ham buddy passed away last week and I went by to see his wife after the funeral. While I was there, she told me that John had ordered something for his Ham Station and somehow ordered two. She said that John told her to give me the second one. I had no real idea as to exactly what the thing did, but it looked pretty much like a VHF/UHF, power/vswr meter. Anyway, when I got home I opened the box and there was a really cool device that has a ton of electronics in it. It works between 125 Mhz and about 525 Mhz and can handle up to 125 watts. If you put at least a 3 watt signal into it, it will show Power, VSWR, and Frequency. The thing cost about $60 and has a USB cable and wall charger for the internal battery. I hooked it up to my 25 watt Tri-Band radio and it worked great. SURECOM also makes one for HF and it looks and works exactly the same. There is one caveat. It won't work on DMR Digital. I looked on AMAZON and they showed about 5 or 6 different devices. The SW 102 was shown in the lineup for about $57 to $60.
