Heat Powered Fan

Has anyone ever used a TEC heat powered fan?
I've played around with thermo electric peltier devices before but never with this applicaiton.  I was wondering if it was worth the money.

I have one of the ecofans, and it works okay.  It does move air, but the actual air velocity is pretty slow.  When the stove does get really hot; the fan speed increases.  It is pretty cool for what it is.  I've had mine for three winters now.

The cool (warm) thing about them is there is no electricity needed. They are pricey and as Jackalope wrote, "I have one of the ecofans, and it works okay.  It does move air, but the actual air velocity is pretty slow."

We have a ceiling fan which seems to work better in the winter. The first winter here we didn't have 120 volts and ran ours using a $99- inverter which was hooked to our battery/solar system.

yeah, good point JM. 
a ceiling fan can be used to move air for cooling or heating - just change the direction of spin.  for the money probably a better option.

If electricity is available, from whatever source.

I am intrigued by those heat fans.

 on top of the small wood stove works great.
No ceiling fan, no electricity and solar power is precious.
So, the small fan is useful to move warm air around.
