I have a couple of fixed blade knives that are always close to my side.  One is a Microtech SOCOM Alpha Special Edition like this one: https://www.gpknives.com/microtech-socom-alpha-g10-tan-pvd-elmax-113-1pvdtn-fixed-blade.html   The other is an ESEE 4 with a non serrated blade.  Both knives are robust and have drop points.  I have several of the ESEE 4 knives because there are enormous amount of accessories for their knives and they'revery durable.  The ESEE knives come in many different lengths and blade types.  In any case, both knives are well made and will last far beyond my lifetime and beyond my children's lifetimes.  Lately I've been carrying non serrated fixed blade knives simply because they're easier for me to sharpen.  My folders generally have serrated blades.  One of my folders is somewhat unusual as it's a Ratworx MRX chain-driven opening knife.....very cool and very quick! I also frequently carry a CKRT Crawford Kasper, an extremely heavy duty tactical folder.

Buck makes good knives.   But the one I have on the GHB under the seat in my truck is a Schrade.  All one piece forged steel.  No short tang that breaks off at the first stress on a hollow handle with a waterproof cap.  Repack the handle with vaseline cotton straws and spark stick along with some water purify tablets or what you deem proper.

If you need a second magazine, its time to call in air support.

God created Man, Col. Sam Colt made him equal, John Moses Browning turned equality to perfection, Gaston Glock turned perfection into plastic fantastic junk.

I am a fan of Coye fixed blade knives.  I have a couple of them and have been very happy.

The Abraham and Moses knives by Geissele are really nice as well.  I have put one on my Christmas list.....we'll see if Santa thinks I was good enough :o

I forgot to mention, don't cut yourself.  Maybe you should ask her to help you out if its one of those hard to reach places.

Isn't it amazing how knives have moved away from hilts.

Similar topic just different gear. I need a new sheath/scabbard for my EDC fixed blade knife. Any suggestions?
