Title: Anyone Know Anything About This?

Helotex G4 Flashlight.

I routinely carry a 2 AA battery Mini Mag light with the high, low, strobe and SOS in it.  Looking for something a bit brighter.  Mag Light says about 14 lumens.

This one is about 1000. 

Thoughts?

I've never used that FL before.
speaking to the electronic characteristics;
the LED is a cree with a good trackrecord designed with an integral heat sink - good MTBF and wear (dimming) characteristics.
No more AA's it uses the cr123 or a single tesla battery.  The lithium cr123 has a good shelf life.
-the 18650 battery is rechargeable and common enough, its used in vape e-cigs.
there are several cheaper variations using that same electronic set-up. unless you need the dimensions or case features, you may be able to find cheaper by searching either the LED or batteries for other options.

the only down side in the specs is the highpower mode - it will dissipate 10W across its surface area.  it might get a bit warm to the touch in constant use. - any internal plastic parts may soften.

Check out www.goinggear.com (http://www.goinggear.com)  It is an excellent site for selection of lights and batteries. I have never seen the particular one you posted.  Prices are fairly decent and they have all of the big names as well as others that are not as well known.

They also have a fairly decent blade selection.
