Title: WMD Nickel Boron Bolt carrier
Post by: Grudgie on February 13, 2014, 07:56:17 PM
New in box WMD nickel Boron plated bolt carrier. The bag says hammer but this is just for the Bolt Carrier. Going for $225+shipping on Brownells. $200 shipped. Paypal preferred.

I run one in my Rifle length AR without a drop of lube and it is 100% reliable.

Is it an M16 or AR15 bolt carrier?

M16 bolt carrier can be used in a AR 15 upper but AR 15 bolt carrier can not be used in a M16 upper. Just asking...

I only run M16 bolt carriers in my AR's.

It's the semi auto AR15 version. It will still work with full auto control parts but you won't be able to use full auto.

Why no lube T-bone? I mean, in my opinion any fight worthy weapon has no break-in period and requires no lube to run well. But why wear out parts if you can avoid it?

Well I figure if I can afford the 50,000 or so rounds it takes to wear off the finish, I can afford to send it back to be replated. And I would imagine lube would only attract carbon fouling to stick to it. I believe it is intended to be ran dry and to just wipe off the carbon with a rag.

Ah that was my next question. Ive heard of these new finishes that require no lube. Im assuming the other moving/rubbing parts in said gun require the same finish to run reliably?

Take a picture of it outside the bag I might be interested. I want to see the profile of the carrier

Not at all. But I imagine it would run with even less friction.

I'll get on that request Ga patriot.

It's the rounded side. I've seen some with a kind of 'hexagonal' look to them but this one is just round.
