This is a great project! Thanks for sharing it.

My skills are not machinist related so excuse my question: Wouldn't it be easier to take a solid piece of aluminum and drill it out? Or Are you just experimenting with trying to use sheet metal not unlike a AK?

Thanks again for filming it and sharing. I can't wait to see the next step (s).

Johnny there are 80% complete lower available and you can get them shipped with no ffl. They run like 100 bucks. This is more can I do it and to document a "resistance" type rifle build. So far it has been really easy but i havent gotten around to working on the buffer tube.

That's pretty cool man. I can build from the parts easily enough, but to actually make the parts, that's talent. When I was growing up and visited my family in PA often there was this guy named AJ. When I was growing up everyone swore the guy was bonkers because he was like the original prepper. No bs conspiracy theories either. He saw what was happening back in the 70's and started planning. I know he built an ak from scrap and I believe he built some others rifles also just to help retain the skill. I remember him talking about building silencers from washers and pvc pipes and stuff like that too, but I was like 12 years old. Wish I would have listened more then lol. The guy pretty much went dark after 9/11. Pops his head out once in a great while, but no way to contact him.  :( Not sure you needed that side story, but I couldn't help but think of the old guy when I saw the vid. Good luck man.

Thanks for the support guys, im just hoping it doesnt blow up in my face when its all done. Im planning on buildng the upper as well, im thinking the whole project having about 400 to 500 in it.Im going to use good parts as far as FCG, barrel, and BCG. It may end up being a piston gun im still debating that.

Edit:  I've also heard that "Guns are the easy part, its the ammo that is the hard part."  That is when it comes to making your own.

Thanks RS this is the stuff I do when I get bored  :)) There are plans floating around the net for building lowers from those plastic cutting boards, I have even seen a lower built out of plywood. Building the gun is the easy part.

Ever try a PSL build let me know, those Nodak Spud FPK receivers and all the parts kits floating around are tempting.

Psl builds are just like an ak  build with a nodak reciever you can have it dont in like 3 or 4 hours.
