-
W.H.A.T? AR's are not just for women & children!
Well here is one for you Gap...AK's are for folks who couldn't hit the side of a barn to save their life! Blame it on the GUN! :DrillSgt:

The kit...

Scope and bipod too? Come on...That is for you! Come on...come clean! ;)
PS. Where is the jig for this?
-
The bipod and scope came with the kit I got a great deal!! No jig needed this lower can be built with a hand drill and a drimel :cowboy:
-
By the way its a dd 1 in 7 chrome lined mid length and the bolt is chromed, free float set up as well.
-
Polymer lower right?
-
Ken gets the gold star for the day yes its an 80% polymer lower
-
GAP, since EP Armory had their Poly lowers confiscated by the BATF&E are there other folks selling them?
-

If theres one thing us Californians know its our law loophole merchandise.
Not keeping track but ive got like 3 gold stars this month now....
-
Johnny I don't know where this one came from it came with the kit. So far in working it not a big fan of polymer. A TM lower is going to be on its way when I save up some more play money. Between paying off the credit card from the rpd and the 20 ak mags oh yeah and the baby it takes a whole lot longer :lmfao: But for a person with minimal tools the poly 80s are totally doable. Really with enough time a sharp knife a steady hand and a brace and bit you can do it. That being said my metal working tools hate it :violin:

Kommiefornians Ken!! But yeah good eye what made you be able to pick it out? Just curious if its the same thing that tipped me off

Has that swirly polymer look and I see white polymer to indicate material to be removed.
-
When I found it I was on my cell the inclosed trigger guard gave it away for me

Ya I don't know enough about ARs to know that they all come with a removable trigger guard. But the reason Ares Armor was raided was over the white inlay in the polymer lowers. Once a gun, always a gun in the BATFE eyes. They think those lowers were created and then the white areas were added. That would violate laws. Total BS but ya.
-
If these are one of those lowers the white was there before the black. But yeah if its not an wtf approved 80 they are asking for trouble. I read up on the ep armory that johnny mentioned.

Upper built

What tools did you use to install the barrel? And did you check head space or are you just hoping?
I believe the AK47 is the true weapon for women and chieldren.

AR15 is for a proficiently trained MAN! :dancingGrenade:

I used a rock on the barrel. And what's headspace?

It's that faint repeating sound you hear when you use said rock on your head. :troutSlap:

And done...

DAMN! You are good GAP!
Great chatting with you today! Stay cool! ;)

Hey don't be a stranger you have the number!!
For everyone looking to build on an 80 go aluminum same tools involved. The brand-new cutting bits I got were melting the polymer! If you have access to a working ar use it to make templates, and go al. Check gun broker they are out there cheap!! And if you have/access to a welder steel flats are available provided you want to tap the buffer tower. Cost of the kit was $550 I had to buy a charging handle and gas tube for it. Explore gun building and ask questions on the several forums. Which is where this kit came from, learning kids is what prepping is all about.

How about rigging up some water cooling?
-
:dancingGrenade: You're awesome GAPatriot! :dancingGrenade:
550 for a full unregistered AR + the tools to make more...
and I felt all special for replacing the sights on my 10/22...
-
I picked this rifle up because it was cheap, and I had intended on building my son a starter rifle so it worked out. But polymer is not my first choice for a rifle build. I'm going to put a better lower together so I can engrave it with his name and birthdate. I want him to have a family heirloom not something he can sell for beer money and smokes when he's in college (he is my boy after all :lmfao:) But the point of the tread was to show that you can put a good rifle together on a budget, with very little tooling. Now to see how it shoots and how the lower holds up to the rigors of being a tool in my hands. :lmfao: I think the lower won't last too long but it might. Of course it never will be an ak so...... I'm.. I mean my boy is gonna do his best to break it.
-
You should get that headspace checked if it's for your son.
-
What's headspace?
-
What's headspace?
The space between the bolt face and a predetermined line in the chamber. Too much and the gun goes boom not bang.

Lol I know ken I'm busting grudgies balls.

:lmfao: To funny.
Take it from old JohnyMac, GAP knows more about firearms than maybe all of us put together. :gunner:

Ya I figured you knew but after its asked twice im answering the damn question lol.
-
I just assumed he was a dumb ass.
But Bull shitting aside, what tools did you use to install the barrel? I'm assuming a torque wrench but I didn't read that in your list of tools you used. I'm just wondering what tools I would need to buy if I decided to build an upper.
-
Armors wrench and a torque wrench but there isn't much point in building your own upper its cheaper to buy it built.
-
For the record, headspace is set on an AR15 barrel at the factory when they press on the barrel extension.
Fantastic right?

What if you buy your own barrel and install it yourself?
-
I've never seen one without an extension already on it.

Ya, I dont know personally. If thats the case then so it is lol.

Ken, brother ARs are so easy to build a cave man could do it ;)

Ken, brother ARs are so easy to build a cave man could do it ;)
I dont doubt it. Ive seen some pretty special people put them together lol.
-
What about the good folks at the Century Arms AK division?
-
And that right there is why you only buy quality parts from a reputable dealer.
-
Ken, brother ARs are so easy to build a cave man could do it ;)
A fucking retard could build one. Just look at Gay Patriot.
Seriously, though, GAP knows more about firearms than anybody ever ever met and talked to, not to mention knows how to basically build them from scratch. He could walk into a hardware store and come out with some shit that would make a functioning firearm, probably slam-fire open bolt full auto, but you get the point.
When I have a question, I call him.
-
Well I started this tread and apparently there were a shit ton of comments. But here is the ar in question as assembled with countless rounds down range. The optics and mount came with the kit I got.
-
Talk about head spacing build a galil with all the cuts made.
-
Finished

So the remote on the right controls the on/off switch on the assembly machine?
